Judged: 1 1 1 As an old Navy Squid, surly you know a shot across the bow when you see one! Entergy is informing Sorrell and Shumlin that should they decide to appeal, they should anticipate incurring that cost in addition to the four plus million already accrued. If Vermonter’s are wary of loading that debt onto the backs of taxpayers, then it may in fact sway their vote. But you fail to mention that Shumlin and Sorrell have the choice to end it right here and cut their losses. Shumlin's future as a Governor of Vermont rests in his own hands. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Attorney General Sorrell has now told the media that the state has spent some $380,000 so far defending the Entergy case. How much more it will cost if the state appeals to the circuit and Supreme Court levels can only be imagined- especially if Entergy, the likely winning party, demands reimbursement from Sorrell for its legal expenses. Not included in any legal bill was the expense of having Sorrell’s staff spend sixteen months sorting through two million subpoenaed communications from within Entergy. This blatantly political fishing expedition came up completely dry, and Sorrell – wisely for once – chose not to prosecute Entergy as a criminal enterprise. The constitutional fidelity of Shumlin, Sorrell, and their legislative accomplices was best illustrated by Senate President Peter Welch, who later said, as a Congressman,“we can do whatever we want, until the Supreme Court tells us we can’t.” |

I don't think the game works that way with these guys. I think Shumlin is a walking dead man. They are going to make a example out of him as exampled for the rest of the cowboy democrats future governors in any state. See, we will win the federal case in our conservative courts and then consume your political careers... You never can win... |

Judged: 1 1 1 Perhaps the NEC, CLF and VPIRG would like to pass the hat around and take up a collection?????? I would rather assist in spending a few million dollars for Home Heating assistance, than for Shumlin and Sorrell's hissy fits. The Citizen Legislators should tax the cows for contributing methane to Global Warming. How about $1 million per farm and $10 a fart. Not to mention $5 per Cow Patty until cleaned up. |

Judged: 1 1 1 If you factor in disposable income Vermont is the most heavily taxed state. Don't forget the income property tax created by Act 60 (Shumlin) and the alternative energy tax created by the SPEED program which causes the average homeowner to pay $8 to $15/month more for electricity. |

Judged: 1 1 1 These guys dreams of a ideal state, extremely low taxes and extremely low wage state and zero government. It is the perfect world! |

|
Judged: 1 1 1 Not really. We just want Vermont to wake up to the fact that the tax rates hurt the middle class and the poor. Vermont has very very few rich people. And none are coming to bail us out with the taxes as high as they are. Vermont is not rich enough to solve every liberal fantasy about health care that is popular this week. Would you choose to move to Vermont if you were a high income earner or would you choose to stay in NH? |
