WRONG TRAIN EMERGENCY DIESEL FUEL RACK TRIP "While hanging tags on the 'B' Diesel Generator, which was tagged out for maintenance, the operator mistakenly entered the 'A' Diesel Generator Room and tripped the 'A' Diesel Generator fuel rack, making it inoperable. At this time both diesels were inoperable placing the plant in a 24 Hour LCO. "When the fuel rack was tripped alarms were received in the control room, the operator was immediately contacted and the problem was identified and corrected. Total LCO time was approximately 2 minutes." The licensee notified the NRC Resident Inspector.

So It Goes another non event . Maybe a few extra screaming sirens would add a nice Holiday touch. The resident inspector was proably trimming a Xmas tree.

The machines and access doors are adequately marked. The operator just in a rush and not paying attention, pure and simple. So yes, both EDGs were inoperable for a couple of minutes. What can we say? It was a major case of inadequate attention to detail. The operator was escorted off the site later that day and hasn't been back since. People make mistakes, but this was a big one, and it's being taken very seriously around here.

So why was he in a rush, what was going on? How long was the operator on the job...did he pull a overnight... Did you have enough operators.

Man aged 47 injured after solar panel fell on him due to strong winds at solar farm. http://www.barcelonareporter.com/index.php... -Just think of how we're all endangered by this solar craziness! Thank God this 2009 solar tragedy didn't turn into yet Another Major solar catastrophe causing a million people to die young, like the last one! oops wait, come to think of it, that was Chernobyl, and it involved another kind of energy production-my bad. Ehh, makes no difference! We must BAN solar before these solartards cause the death of us all! And besides, just WHERE the hell are we going to put all those spent solar panels?? Why aren't we building a Yucca Mt-style underground facility NOW to put those used panels in?--someplace safe and far away from civilization where they can emit their deadly cancer-causing solarites for the thousands of years necceasry for them to become relatively 'safe' again.

Sounds like you are talking about a licenced operator?

Right, so why did initial plant training pick up this lackadaisical attitude. Sounds like this guy liked to kiss management ass...slavishly do anything thing they wished. So they kept him around because management liked his ass kissing...not his attention to detail.

A spokesman for the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission says it will review an incident at the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant in which one of the plant's emergency backup diesel generators was down for service and a plant technician mistakenly shut down the other one as well. The NRC's Neil Sheehan says both generators were out of service for about 2 minutes on Friday after a technician sent to work on one disconnected the other from its fuel supply. Sheehan says the plant continued to operate normally during the incident. The generators are used if a general power outage causes the nuclear plant to lose power from the electric grid. But Sheehan says Vermont Yankee has other backup systems as well, including batteries and a tie to a nearby hydroelectric dam.

You know, a contractor was lackadaisical about flipping siren test switches last month, another guy now is pushing buttons on the wrong diesel generator. Did entergy hire the siren contractor...?
