I have never been a fan of the whole foreclosure bailout scheme. Most of these people got into loans they simply could not afford. Is this my problem? No! I live in a house that is well beneath my means. Yet I have to pay for the wrecklessness of others. It isn't fair. These people forgot the old adage of "buyer beware".

I see no reason to try and help people stay in a home that they couldn't afford to begin with. Do them a favor and let them declare bankruptcy. Then they can move on with their lives. If you help them stay in a house they can't afford you are only prolonging the inevitable. These people will also spend way more money than they should on other living expenses in order to "keep up with the Joneses".

Say no to government bailout money designed to help people keep houses they never could afford in the first place!

i disagree with you. if the loans were modified and the interest rates were lowered then alot of the people could afford to stay in their homes. you can't put all the blame on the home buyer...as we know the mortgage co's are to be blamed also ...you just contridicted yourself when you said you didn't agree thats it's the tax payers duty to pay for the bailouts...instead you suggest that these people file backruptcy. that too will backfire because then the credit card interest rates will soar etc..... i agree it could be dang if you do and dang if you don't but bankruptcy is not the answer either. keep these people in their homes with very limited access to credit availability for the next 5-10 years till they get on their feet. the mortgages will be paid on while they are not able to access more credit cards or loans.

Come on,#2 - Agree completely with you as far as no government (your taxes and mine) bailout money for those who went in over their heads. That's just irresponsible and no one should have to lend them any financial help.
Sadly, numerous families had been laid off or lost jobs completely. They can find work but at much less wages then they held previously. For these folks who, through no fault of their own, have done everything correct but have fallen on difficult times and are facing forclosure I would be willing to extend a helping hand.
The problem here is seperating the two distinct catagories. How do we determine who is responsible and who isn't?

Slavery = the forced labor of one for the benefit of another

Taxes = the forcible seizure of the fruits of your labor for the benefit of another.

Sounds like the same thing, doesn't it?

Betcha the banksters who kiped our tax money (aka "stimulus") aren't worrying about foreclosure huh?

End the Fed. Resist the New World Order.

who cares if the "banksters" are worried about foreclosure. it's not about them now...it's about families, humans trying to keep their homes... the american dream. have some compassion because you never know whats gonna come your way and you may need help one day also. if everyone helped each other just a tiny bit then we would all be getting along alot better right now. the people who are going through foreclosure are going through a really rough time. it could be you, your child, your parent...so relax and try and help each other out.

Something in the system needs to be fixed when approximately $150 of a $1000 monthly payment goes to the equity in your home. Do the banks really need that much in profit? If you want to fix the system, fix the system and provide affordable interest rates for Pete's sake. Doesn't it make more sense to lower the interest rate and continue to see some sort of profit rather than lose money in foreclosure?

Many people are losing their homes because of outside circumstances, not recklessness. When a family suddenly loses even one income, it can be devastating. Eventually, the loan companies will greed themselves out of business, just like the auto industry has done.

Daily Horoscope for March 20

Gemini

The Sun's entry into the cardinal signs marks the deep structure of the year. Tonight the Sun enters fiery Aries, at the Equinox, turing the focus to home, family and domestic conditions. You need to assert and express yourself within the family. Control arrogance or stubborn pride, or this will offend parents and others.
