Here is what amazes me... How is it that the family members did not care enough to know that their daughters, sisters, mothers of children went missing for such a long period of time only to be notified by the police or news coverage that some of these women were found dead? What kind of "Culture" places such a low priority on human life as not to know where a family member is for months at a time? Now, of course, you see the hue and cry from the very same people...sheer indignancy over ."How could they do this to my Baby?" .You mean 'your Baby' that you didn't even care enough about to check on their well-being for months at a time?.That "Baby?" It's the very same people who are the first to blame the police, blame a racist society, blame the "System" for failing the surviving family members in safegarding their deceased. Never once is there blame placed on the two parties most to blame:.The Killer and themselves for failing to care enough about those who were killed by this pathelogical monster. What a Culture....

I feel the same way CCW. Not to say that the relatives didn't file a report, that was not mentioned, however that is a long time to be missing. If it was my mother, daughter or cousin, I would not ever stop looking, there would be a search party everyday AND I would live at the police station until they did something. And as a mother of two small children myself, I would hope my family continue to look for me no matter what.

The way it is. You should be okay around noon.. I think the Ripple/Gin/Malt liquor has them passed out from the previous night. Get the heck out around 4:00pm. You already know this.. Pitypat and I expect a detailed report tonight. No excuses even if it's from the hospital bed with a gun wound..

What an insensitive bunch of people! Should the families have done more to find their loves ones? Absolutely! However, resorting to ignorant stereotypes is totally uncalled for and unnecessary. It's sad that people enjoy hiding behind a computer when they make such statements - yet do nothing to help address problems and create solutions. SMH!!!

There are more whites on welfare and food stamps, unless you do the percentage math. the problem with that is that most whites on welfare and food stamps don't do the crimes (some do of course they are in all races They are called white trash) your quick to jump up and yell RACIST, thats the only word you and others use to stop any discussion on the topic of any article. Instead of focusing on the RACIST WORD lets see from YOU some constructive suggestions. The reason YOU are unalbe to is because you'd have to bring up welfare, food stamps, and drugs. Then some other person would jump up and yell your racist. Come on stop yelling racist tell us how this should be handled pertaining to this article or the 11 killed women or the downtown shooting or the family shoplifting. What suggestions do you have to put a stop to these things happening. The people you are calling racist want to know who how to end this cycle. Be careful with your wording I wouldn't want to hear a racist slur in your answers. Come on Kelly and all you others, tell us how can Cleveland and other cities stop this senseless killings and retake our cities.

Undrug your family and teach them how to live without drugs, alcohol and killing. To teach you kids from an early age good moral values instead of hate and anger.

I have returned from my tour of Imperial Avenue. It is blocked off so I could not park out front. I suspect Cleveland Public has the day off as I noticed many young kids out. It is a festival time down there. People all are limming around conversing, I am considering setting up a lemonade stand, but I usually charge 25 cents per cup, that might be high. I don't take food stamps either. No drug dealers or prostitutes on Imperial, quite a number on Kinsman Ave. They dealers and hookers seemed quite friendly they all waved and came running when I slowed down, they look angry when you hit the gas. That was fun, I haven't played that game in 25 years.

Well said. My heart pours out to these families, but I can't imagine not knowing where a loved one is, let alone a year. Some of these people had not spoken to their loved one in a year. How do they expect the police the care, if they don't show that they care? I see all the crying and emotions, but where was all this show of caring when these women were alive and in need of family help? My brother was living off the streets, in another state, strung out on drugs. Today he's married, three kids, and he's a fireman and a paramedic. Today he's saving lives instead of destroying lives. But he had a family that didn't give up on him, that prayed God would heal him, that stayed in contact with him. Our love saved him. Who knows whether these women would have changed if surrounded by persistent family love. CCW Holder wrote: Here is what amazes me... I'm continually amused by the thought that I should care more for people who don't care about / for themselves. Kelly, perhaps you could take a couple of these itinerant bitches home, clean them up and turn them into ladies. We suburban folks would sure appreciate it. More likely we'll see you on the news moaning about how your house got cleaned out when you weren'tooking. Can you understand that you can't do something for people who don't want what you're selling? The timeless old adage: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. I don't hide behind my computer, and you....

The way it is.. No, Cleveland Public is in session today. You are just seeing the normal activity of that part of town. The lemonade stand? Naw, if you want to become the talk of that area, open the "The way it is" ribs and chicken emporium. You'll have all kinds of business!! Won't make any money, but the stuff will be flying out of your hands and wallet...

For starters, where in my post did you see the word "racist?" Enough said. This article is about the victims and their families - not a social commentary. I'm willing to engage in a dialogue with any one of you re: the socio-economic issues of the day. I've studied these issues extensively, wrote a thesis, and work on the boards of many organizations. Furthermore, I understand the plight of the poor as an individual who has pulled herself up. Nonetheless, the tone of these posts truly saddens me. A real dialogue will never be possible if people continue to utilize such negative and grossly inaccurate language.
