massena parking lot drama

this thread was removed. its the village board meeting from earlier this week on video. what was wrong with this? nothing! its news

Vinnie is absolutely correct in his position. If the village is going to force a decision, Vinnie should close the parking lot. It is his insurance on the line. He's just a small business man trying to make a living and doing his part of keep downtown Massena alive. Shame on the village for backing him into a corner. When push comes to shove, I say, "Shove back, Vinnie. Close the parking lot to everyone except your customers." Sell the bbq pit and building and anything else on your property that you didn't put there. Don't bend over for these guys, Vinnie, because you know what will happen to you. One person gets hurts in your parking lot and goes after you, you are out of business. And three bars uses that parking lot, which increases the chances of somebody getting injured out there.

Keeping downtown alive you say......I almost spit my coffee out that was so laughable. Its going to take more than a crappy looking parking lot to do that.

election time comes around I think its time to clean house

Why should we as taxpayers pay for plowing the parking lot if the village doesn't own it.Make them responsible for there own property,and if someone gets hurts back there,you can,t sue the village because they don't own it.

they have been plowing it for 47 years now i think that sets precedence

just because they have been doing this way this long doesn't make it any less stupid.

What will happen when it comes time to repave it? Will the village get stuck with that too?

Sure why not we have been doin it for 47 years,why dont we just plow all store owners and be done with it.

let the downtown business owner take care of it. its time for them to start maintaining it. its private property. whenthey take it over again watch them block it. they will only be hurting themselves. that vinny is being greedy. only thinking of himself.

If I owned a parking lot i'd put a toll booth in it and charge people to park especially on friday and saturday nights that way the bar flys would have to pay to park. I would also scream and yell at the people that clean it up for me for free by picking up all the bottles and cans like the guy that owns it does to John Michaud. I would also puff up my chest like a big man and rub my nipples because I own a parking lot.

Nothing wrong with being a dumpster diver. I like to refer to it as a garbologist.

I see the amvets there bitching. What happens when they build their new building ? That is right, they will have to take care of their own parking lot just like the Moose, Legion, VFW. Who gives a crap about their parties. It's a private club. Downtown would do just fine without them.
