When is Branson going to fix their 75 year old bridge in Branson? Believe it or not, the bridge was built in 1931..yes...75 years ago AND... its current state is "Structurally Deficient" from the last time it was inspected.

If you've ever been to Branson, you might notice that many times the traffic is at a standstill on this bridge. I wonder if they had this in mind when they built it 75 years ago?

I think its only a matter of time before the bridge gives in. It simply wasn't built to have bumper to bumper traffic going both directions...at a standstill.

Do bridges collapse? Yes...it isn't impossible. All of these negative factors could add up to a big mess sometime. Is Branson going to do anything about it? I doubt it. Unless they can figure a way to do it and skim some money off the top at the same time...which they are good at. So, perhaps they will fix it.

That bridge really needs fixed, I think they don't need to build the 17 story condos and they need to build a new bridge right next to the current one. Branson is changing so quick and I don't thinks its a good thing. Only for Investors.

If this bridge happened to be on the route to Silver Dollar City or a direct route to the Branson Landing, it would have been repaired long ago. Its time the people that have to use that bridge everyday have a meeting at the end of the bridge, Call KY3 and have someone there to "show and tell" what the bridge looks like. I have had more emails from the Hwy Department explaining how safe this bridge was than Carter had pills. Its time to take other measure and get something done before it does fall in.

We don't have enough money to fix the Lake Taneycomo Bridge which was built in 1931. It is going to fall down one of thes days.

We don't have the money to repir the historic old landmark bridge, the only one of it's kind left in the state of Missouri, because we are spending all of our avaiable cash to build a new entrance to Silver dollar City, which is known to all local people as Steal Your Dollar City.

They will not give a realse on what has been done to this bridge the last 15yrs.
Nor will they tell you that there has been chunks falling for at least 5yrs, on a daily basis
They have frozen all memos & reports as of 9:00am this morning

Sure, they are hiding now. They may soon have an unlisted number at MODOT.

If they have problems, they will have blood on their hands and they know it. Totally incompetent bunch.

I wonder how soon it will be before we see swarms of government types "inspecting" the bridge? Sounds like various agencies all over the country are going to be doing a whole lot of bridge inspecting.

Many years ago the bridge was given a shelf life of 10 years, we have excedded that timetable.
Lets see what we can do to distract the residents and tourist stuck in traffic on the bridge. Wait I've got it! Let's build a very expensive shopping center over the park and then while at a standstill on the bridge, instead of looking down through the holes into the water, we can distract everyone to look at the beautiful Branson Landing, which is not handicapp or stroller firendly!
Wake up and see the crumbling concrete!

We don't have enough money to fix the Lake Taneycomo Bridge which was built in 1931. It is going to fall down one of thes days and it's possibly going to hurt, maim or kill hundreds of people, just like that old bridge in Minneapolis-St Paul, Minnesota!

We don't have the money to repir the historic old landmark bridge, the only one of it's kind left in the state of Missouri, because we are spending all of our available cash to maintain "PETE'S PIKE", aka the Herschend Highway, aka: Ozark Mountain Highroad and then to build a new entrance to Silver Dollar City, which is known to all local people as Steal Your Dollar City.
Taxpayers will have to foot this bill too.

We built 6 bridges on Pete's Pike, The Herschend Highway that 30 or 40 drive over everyday.
But we don't have the money to repair and fix the old Lake Taneycomo Bridge.

Piss off! Do you really need a lot of people to get hurt just to fill good about your self! Why don't you just go to a city hall meeting and get the latest status on the project. Then post what you find.

OMG, the bridge that connects Branson to Hollister?!! Oh, gadzooks!! I used to cross that bridge everyday when I lived in downtown Branson. I went and did my laundry there and there was a big bar that fun to go too that was right off to the left at the end of that bridge and I had some fun there too. I hope I didn't know anyone that was killed in that bridge collapse. My prayers certainly go out to the entire area and everyone involved.

If you hate it so bad then why do you waste your time answering these little posts? Sounds like you have nothing better to do with your time. You sound like a real MORON and I understand that Branson wasn't built to take on a population like NYC when it comes to tourist season and it sounds like they are doing the best they can to make it better for everyone.
What a nut you are!!

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Cancer

With Mars and Saturn working in harmony, you'll find the support you need through friends or associates. Someone pitches in to help which will let you take a concrete step towards achieving your goals. There could however be a cost in terms of your emotional and domestic life because of what you're doing. Has responsibility taken you away from those you're close to? Try to make things up in another way.
