When was the last time a middle class worked at Walmart? Or got his car repo to get more money to pay the rent? Because some jack $%# lowered taxes.
Low taxes = less money to help pay their rent, less food stamps = get more money. HOW? they keep the pay low, they are making more & more minimum wage jobs in town. More people with less money, less sales!
Think about lowering taxes how does that help the poor, they need to live on those taxes as they work the many minimum wage jobs coming here. As the world shrunk and and the economy became a world economy, both unions and management failed to foresee the associated ramifications for the American worker. By that time union wages were out of control and American based companies could no longer compete in the world economy. Unions were not about to make wage concessions that would allow American companies compete. You are correct for the era where unions dominated a small world. Unions and management killed American manufacturing jobs with their short-sightedness.
