Versailles

This town is going to hell. This is definetly an "I'm better than you town." If you don't have a well known name or lot's of $$$? You aint worth spit to the citizens of Versailles. The cops are crooked - The City Council is crooked - John's IGA robs you at the register. Taxes in this town are outragious and unfair. What is this, Russia #2?

I agree. This town sucks and I cant wait to get out of it. Even my neighbors are snubby. Cant sell my house because the market is too low. I dont know what's worse, loosing money in value or paying these dang taxes. Iga is stupid, and so is the family. Plus I hear bnsf logistics is treating thier employees like crap. They should have saw it coming when the borchers sold them out and screwed all them people. I'm just glad I got out of there. They took the money and ran and left all those hard working people stranded. The economy in this town is getting bad. Stupid rich people are assholes and dont care about those who got them were there at. They sure didn't do it on their own.

Why ANYONE would want to live in an old, run down, has been, rusty old rat trap of any small town Ohio, is beyond the 200 million or so Americans who are smart enough not to live there. The other 100 million can't get out.

I praise all of you.......I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this way and I know from working with a person from Versailles that they all think they are better than everyone else.....And.......can't trust'em as far as you can throw'em.

Versailles is a wonderful town.I have lived in a lot of towns and Versailles beats them all.I grew up in Versailles and I am not snooty and Versailles people aren't snooty.

Maybe you don't like the town because of the education you received (or lack of an education)?

Versailles is no worse than any other town i been to.I do have to admitt it more expensive to live here than where i from.There are good people and bad people everywhere you go so there no need to be hating on versailles.Get a life people!

I've lived around Darke County for more than 30yrs, 12 in Versailles. With all of it's warts, I'd rather live there than any other town around. Me, rich, not hardly. More good people than bad. Taxes are high but they are re-investing in town through infrastructure improvements like roads and water treatment plants. just my $0.02 worth anyway.

You are apparently an uninformed individual. Do you know any of these people or do you just sit around and complain but never contribute to anything. If you don't like Versailles, please, move away and don't come back. Yes there are good and bad people here, but to say these individuals are crooked shows your ignorance. Get a life!

Most of the people of Versailles are snooty. People thing nothing ever happens here but the owner of the IGA got SHOT a few years back. That's why they close at what? 8 PM???

Most of the people? Do you know "most" of the people? I've lived here my whole life and don't know "most" of the people.

Besides, what does someone getting robbed (IGA) have to do with people being snooty in your opinion? And he wasn't shot, he was hit on the head and robbed. You don't even know the facts so your comments are weak. If you don't like it in Versailles, go ahead and move elsewhere. Why stay?

Now folks. Can't we all just get along? Versailles is snooty, when compared to say, Bradford or Ansonia. However, people are people, no matter what town you are from. The short end of this matter is a simple drive through of Versailles from someone as worldly as myself. So I did. hmmm. Didn't spot one black, mexican, hindu, indian, chinese.
Maybe not such a bad town after all. Snooty maybe.
