Beenthere... are you serious? Obviously you have never been to college. Go to Penn State and your mind will be blown. Shippensburg cops are stricter than most schools and it is turning kids away from coming here. The school has a hard enough time getting prospective students. If you don't like it then move somewhere else.. otherwise quit crying and provide a meaningful and intelligent comment.
Yea, it is really scaring them away. That's why the school has 8,500 students this year. I think a 10% increase they said. If anything the hype about it being a party school is increasing the amount of students every year. Go check the enlistment and try to find a decrease in students. Good luck!

And people saying that wasting time with other things instead of focusing on the creeper is a bunch of BS. That's a great idea, lets forget about any other crime going on in town(burglaries, dui's, criminal mischief, fights...etc) because we need to find the creeper. And of course busting kids for underage drinking looks, on the surface, like a petty thing, but not when you think about what it may prevent.(criminal mischiefs, thefts, fights, robberies, dui's..etc. Most crimes are alcohol related.

I agree. However, sending children to college is a reality and being honest about alcohol/drugs etc...
never hurt. To say " Focusing on studies is another way of not dealing with their reality". is kind of
backwards. That's like saying "go to school and do not learn anything. Do not interact with other people and do not stop sucking mommys breast".

How about lowering the drinking age to 18 where it should be.

What is so magical about 21? Nothing.

Either you are an adult at 18 or you aren't.

I have said this in the past and will keep saying it.

If you are old enough to die for your country you are old enough to drink alcohol.

Let all the flaming begin.......

everyone who says ship is full of crazies and drunken college students has never lived anywhere else. i moved my family from bloomsburg to ship almost two years ago. haven't regretted it once. if you think ship u students are bad, please spend a weekend in bloomsburg. the BU students have taken over the town and are completely out of control. shippensburg is a quiet town compared to bloom, and i'm so glad i got my family out of the hole bloom has become. ship residents should appreciate what they have.

The more drunks they discourage from coming here the better. Yeah, SU's record enrollment shows they're having a hard time attracting students. The problem is the University is not seeking students, it's just looking for anyone who can pay the tuition.
And the new prez? He's merely a frat boy in a suit and tie, encouraging excessive alcohol use at every turn.

Penn State for example can have a "work hard, party hard" balance. The school attracts students from all over the state knowing well that it is a huge party school.. In return, admission standards go up because of the rich atmosphere happy valley provides on a typical weekend. I agree cops should be doing their jobs, but IF YOU'VE EVER gone to Shippensburg University then you would know how excessive they are. DO NOT comment on the cops if you have not gone to the school. For all the townies, don't bitch because Shippensburg's economy would be in shambles if the University wasn't there. As for the new President, I applaud him.

Channons an adult and makes his own choices. If he chooses to get caught drinking 3 times thats his own fault. Not Aunt Gingers. And I dont see that what she chooses to do in her free time affects Channons decisions. So what if she plays bingo, no one cares. I'm sure your children are just perfect little angels and do everything you tell them to do. Channon got caught that makes him an idiot, I'm positive you or your children stay home on the weekend. Shut your hypocritic mouth and keep you comments about my family to yourself.

I would agree with allowing 18 yr olds to drink as long as they were on active duty in the armed forces of the United States. Otherwise, keep the legal age at 21.

Newsflash PEOPLE! college students drink? Noo way.. and Ship's enrollment is up because of natural population growth. A college's admission standard is true to how many people are interested in the school itself. The higher Ship's standards means the less idiotic kids that will enroll. Some people need to find reasons to bitch.

I agree with you that the University is just looking for people who can pay the tuition. The amount of students at SU who can barely read is astonishing. How did they get out of high school? And some people think that NCLB was a great idea...

I am one of those people who got the underage, and i will continue to BINGE DRINK, and i will continue to drink as much alcohol as i possibly can to get completely wasted. want to know why? BECAUSE ITS COLLEGE, ITS WHAT WE DOOOOOOOOOOO. COPS ARE PIGS, I SAW 8 cops talking to two kids on the street, while a girl sprinted across the road HALF DRESSED, and the cops just looked at her and laughed. Im sorry, but the pigs now-a-days ENCOURAGE me to drink ... and im not going to stop. F*ck the cops at shippensburg, ALL OF THEM

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Taurus

Make a big effort to spend time with people you didn't see on Christmas Day, especially if they're older than you or are having a bad time at the moment. You're brimming over with compassion and empathy, which will be really appreciated by anyone who's on the receiving end of them. You're also in the mood to make allowances for people, and that will help enormously.
