Tragedy Inspires Woman To Help Others

What a great cause! Support Erin's Dream!! Great story WFMZ!

Help Erin give something back...help her with her dream...help her and others deal with this horrible disease that takes and affects loved ones!

My husband at the age of 15 was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer...(almost 15-yrs ago) Ewings Sarcoma--but it was in his soft tissue, not bone. The survival rate was around 6% Now it is over 60%....God is faithful, all powerful, all-knowing. We are never able to understand HIS plan, bu HE has one. Once we are absent from the body we are present with The Lord....rest assurred and find peace in that statement.
My husband will be 31 years old this year! He asked God for months, years, why this happened to him. It was because of his situation-that people were able to live a full life, and someone was able to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
I promise to pray for you, that the Lord will give you and your family peace, and rest (which seems hard to come by) over your tragic loss. Jeremiah 29:11 says, " I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans of a hope and a future yet to come.....The peace of Christ be with you. I PROMISE to pray for you faithfully. May you feel the love and warmth of the Holy Spirit daily...

WE NEED THIS. I also lost my daughter, named Avery, to cancer in 2008. She died 3 months after being diagnosed with Brain Cancer, she was 4 years old. Many days lately I have wished for a place like this. I plan to pass this story to all I know to help get the funding needed.

Also check out Kiva.org or Accion for the potential for peer-to-peer loans!!!! I think Accion in the one that would do it in the US!! I'd love to help!! I am a past stem-cell donor through the National Marrow Donor program and feel very strongly that this opportunity to build a counseling center would be a huge benefit to people.

No parent should ever have to endure this type of pain. I am so impressed at Erin's strength and her willingness to forge ahead and help others. She is a rock. I pray her dream comes true!

I am Erin's dad and G-Pop to Avery, Nolan and Calvin. I thank WFMZ for airing her story. Like many others I used to believe that this sort of thing was tragic but happened to "other families" until ours became one of those families, twice.
I am so proud of Erin for turning her loss into a positive cause and urge others to help her by voting in the Pepsi Refresh Everything Grant program.
