Full story: Sentinel & Enterprise

There is no positive reason for increasing the tax, it's just an excuse not to cut out waste and streamline expenses. Legislators themselves have crossed the NH border to purchase items to avoid the same taxes they increased.

it only further shows that they are clueless as to the plight of the middle class and businesses in this state, and are only concerned about themselves.

It's time to lay off all the Legislators, which would allow them less time to continue passing harmful bills and taxes(fees) onto the taxpayers

Another Democrat drone, prepared to vote "yes" on any proposal to make government bigger and more intrusive, Benson is programmed to vote for any and all tax-and-spend programs promoted by the national Democratic Party. Yet even Massachusetts voters, finally unwilling to embrace national bankruptcy to finance the bottomless pit demanded by the liberal agenda, have had enough.

3 Big screen TV’s $2800.00
1 Snow Blower $1200.00
1 Chain Saw $275.00
2 Bud light 30 packs $36.00
Halloween Candy $19.99
TAXES $0

Thank you New Hampshire!

I think that raising taxes is necessary. Where else are we going to get money?? I don't like it but that is just the way it is.... If you don't like it go up to NH to purchase those big ticket items.... Jen has done a great job..... If you think you can do better, then step up to the plate and run yourself. People are so eager to bash our elected officials, but they are the last ones to run in an election, or better yet ~~ VOTE!!

The problem here is that the State collects these taxes and then doesn't return enough to the Cities and towns. Eliminate these taxes (sales), allow local real estate taxes to go up and cities and towns can then manage their own financial situation. At least that way your increased taxes go to your town.

I think the reason no one is interesting in voting for her is because she hasn't done anything; she goes around taking credit for just about everything it seems and most people find it puzzling. Does she not have any of her own ideas? I was surprised to read this article and don't remember her speaking out against Unitil. The new law it would seem is due to the group of people speaking up against that company. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and always pay my taxes and vote! I think we need better choices other than her...

Make all state and federal elected officials part time, give them a small stipend for expenses, make them get their own health insurance, set up their own retiremant plans and cut all perks and spending...taxes would only for national security, education and repairing or building new or better infrastructure...there would be no entitlements allowed ...anyone out of work would work for their unemployment checks...I have to work for my pay check...any one who is disabled and or has worked for a living would be taken care of...take care of our disabled veterans with better health care and re-education...welfare mothers would have to work for their keep thru a WPA system and no children would be allowed to be born to a woman already on the Dole...any child born while the mother is o n the dole would be taken from the mother and placed for adoption and her tubes tied. Encourage people to save for their retirement and not rely on social security to support them in their retirement years...people should rely on themselves rather than expect the state to take care of them...socialism leads to suicide for both the person and the state.

The list goes on and on and on. Now they want to put a 5 cent tax on plastic grocery bags, water bottles and soda bottles and on and on and on. When are people going to wake up and smell the coffee. Voting these people in makes them justify such abuse. Why do you think gas went to 4 bucks a gallon just before the election? All those costs associated with that liberal scam have not come down one cent. Can't people see that in order for the dem party to get their attention they needed crisis to exist. They couldn't even admit the surge in Iraq was a complete success. Their only alternative was to create a different crisis and they did just that with our economy. Google "Housing Crisis And The Democrats" and you will see this was a long term event with ample warning. If there is not a crisis then one needs to be manufactured in order to get your attention and gain control. This is all about control. PERIOD!

Exactly! You honestly think the other side was just going to lay down do you? Like I said it's all about control, but who plays with dignity and respect is another story! When harm is the intent then it's a different ballgame. The defense of our country should never be used as a political ploy for control. Color coded "warnings" are much different than the actual use of treason to undermine our security. Not 3 months into the war on terror the Democrats waged war on Bush because they knew if he was successful it would be many many years before they had another shot at power. Now we have a crazy man in the white house with an agenda to steal this country's wealth and distribute it to third world nations, virtually turning this country into one of them.

Richard Armitage was the person who revealed Valerie Plame's identity to Bob Novak.

Valerie Plame wasn't a covert agent and the government wasn't trying to protect her identity.
In December 2006, after six years of Bush and the last month before the Democrats took over both houses of the national legislature, a snapshot of our economy looked like this.

•Unemployment stood at 4.4%.
•Real GDP growth over the previous four years (under a Republican President, House and Senate) averaged 3% per year.
•A gallon of regular gasoline cost $2.30.
•The S&P 500 stock index stood at 1418, or 84% above its post-911 low and more than 7% higher than when Bush took office.
•Every year of Bush's Presidency, real (inflation-adjusted) disposable income per person went up. By the end of 2006, the average person was making 9% more in real terms than before Bush became President .

If you recall, that 2006 election was considered a referendum on Iraq. The people wanted change, so they threw out the Republicans and replaced them with Democrats. Welcome Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Did Scotter Libby out CIA agent Valerie Plame? No, it was the anti-White House Richard Armitage at State, but Congress investigated anyway.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Libra

This is a fantastic day for using your brain with precision and accuracy. For instance, it's great for filling in a complicated form or going through some complex paperwork because you'll find it easy to concentrate on what you're doing. It's especially good for paying attention to the sort of finicky details that you normally aren't interested in but which are right up your street.
