How do you know if they are the one?

You never know, that's the crappy thing. And if you're in highschool, focus on that first ;)

i really dont think it is out there, they either love you but are not in love with you, want you but dont love you or just out to get what they want . doubt anything being real.

How do you know?? Usually when the time comes, you just know.

I agree "RomingInsomniac"! I knew and I wish I had found my soul mate years ago but, I'm thankful I have him now! Don't rush love EVER and when you find true love hold on too it with all your heart, be each others best friend, share your thoughts, hopes, and dreams! Most of all don't take it for granted because what you have today maybe gone tomorrow!<3

I agree with that, very logical. It almost always breaks down like this... Love is very one sided since the chances of you both truly loving one another are pretty slim. People often sense when someone loves them so they play their part to get what they want (sex, companionship, children, housewife, etc) Almost always one person gets hurt since "love is blind" and the break up or infidelity takes them by complete surprise. Always be on the defensive and never give too much of your heart to anyone because you won't get it back. Hope your thoughts compute in a much more rational fashion from now on. good luck!

I promise, you will know when youve found true love, that person will make you want to be better, in all aspects of life. When your with that person, you feel as if there is nothing in this this world you cant accomplish. Also, you know this person will have your back, through anything. No matter what. Well reading that just makes it more clear for me that what I thought was...was not...I felt that way about someone, loved him with all my heart, would've done anything for him, every second together ''was'' amazing. He could never return the same to me.

I dont pretend to be an expert so please take my comment with a grain of salt. But thats just my opinion on true love. Im sorry that you didnt receive the same amount of love that you provided in return. But I promise, their is someone out there that will treat you with the respect that you.deserve. Keep your head up and keep searching, better days will come for you.

No I think that is very good advice, he broke my heart & caused me to have severe trust issues with anyone, I won't hurt another the way he did me, it isn't right & I am not that type of person, he has called me ugly names & made me out to look bad, when all I ever did was love him & was better to him than anyone ever has been.

there is no such thing. thats fairytale sh*t. You like someone, they like you. thats it. you'll find you have more of connection w/some more than others.

I find true love everyday. I love my wife dearly. But I also love other women, I do not consider myself a dog, I can't help how I look at women. I find them amazing, and not just to jump in the bed with. God could of never made anything more beautiful than a woman...that's how I honestly feel. They are amazing, in everything they do...and so many doesn't get the appreciation they deserve. And its sad.

Well, you shouldnt stand for that. No woman deserves to be disrespected or made to.feel inferior. I promise you its not "fairytale shit". Its out there, you sound like a headstrong individual, someone will be lucky to have you. Remember that. He made a mistake, im sure he is reaping the reprocussions that come with breaking a womans heart. Just know that you will find someone to truly love you for who yoi are. No there is no thing as a fairytale. Had alot more than more my heart broke, I should know... Sometimes they can love you too death , but that is not real love or at least I hope not.. If so I have had it , if I could just find a way too loose it now.
