Anybody out there who is looking for a job, DO NOT go to Sun Products Corporation. They are the worst people to work for. Especially if you have a family. They would rather you be a single person with no friends, no significant other or any thing. And if you do fit in that category they will use you, chew you up and spit you out when they are done. I wish I had never worked at that place. No I didn't get fired, they just are pathetic people who run that place.

They do have the 12 hour shifts, but you do get time off and one long week/one short week rotation. It is a lot of hours, so be prepared, especially if you are used to the traditional 8 or 9 hour day 5 or 6 days a week. If you're on the night shift, having to switch back and forth on your days off to have some time with your family can be a bit of a drag and make it rough your first day back to work.

The work isn't bad, it's pretty light compared to most shops that I've worked in. It is a lot of standing/walking, but I guess that is going to be typical of any manufacturing environment. It's a clean environment; coming out of foundries and steel forging shops, it was a nice change for me.

Just like any other company, the leadership is a mixed bag. Most of the leadership is pretty decent, and generally will treat you right if you treat them right.

Ive worked at sun for five years and couldn't be happier. We have the best insurance we've ever had now. They only promote from within so you don't have to worry about some new guy changing things just to make a point the only changes are always improvements. Everyone there is moving up cause as long as you put your time in seniority will always be looked at when a better job opens up. All of the new supervisors and leads are people who worked operator positions while learning they're jobs that's why we stay so strong a great place to work the plant manager is on a first name basis with everyone and stays over to say hello to nightshift all the time if you get sick they call nonstop to check on you and your family do you need anything let us help you. No matter where you work you should quit and come to sun if you want the chance to prove yourself and move up in the company

Some people, like the original poster, just can't stand actually having to WORK at a job for 12 hours to earn a paycheck. Everyone wants to talk on their phones and listen to music and not do anything these days. Sun is a very easy place to work. Besides, if you can't even spell PRODUCTS correctly in the title, I doubt you ever tried to actually work in the first place. Prolly just whined every time a bottle went by.

Happy employee, you are full of bologna. What did you snort before posting? How can you lie and say they only promote from within when sun advertises for leads and managers all the time? Best insurance? Yeah right, for what it costs it is OK, but is too expensive, our union coworkers in Baltimore and Texas have cheaper insurance and better pay.

Seniority doesn't mean shit at sun, not a guarantee for anything. The ones that have been here since the beginning, the country club, do have it better than everyone else. But eventually they will be targeted for removal since they earn too much and can be replaced with a stupid newbie or even a temp tomorrow. Your probably ron anglin, sitting at your desk, watching porn on your PC, posting at topic.

My old supervisor sent half his time cruising the web, the other half harassing his employees, must be hitlers son.

There are some easy jobs, but the management, the politics, the harassing, the lies, the low pay and 30 cent raises, the non existing member rule book that constantly changes, the overpriced insurance, their stupid security rules , the back stabbing, the low mentality of many of the leads, managers, hr is full of liars and morons, their are too many khaki wearing employees.

In short, the negatives far outweigh the positives at sun. If u have no job, its a job, but keep looking and get the hell out of there.

They hire all the time, mst be a reason... case they suck. The Corvette plant has 900 employees, do you see them advertising on wbko, daily news, monster.com , radio ads, Greenwood mall job fairs, advertising in Tennessee, other local job websites and wherever I misses? No u don't, because the Corvette plant is a much better place to work, better pay, benefits, etc and not the trnover rate like sun. Sun has to advertise everywhere because their getting known as a cappy place to work.

Good places don't have to advertise like that.

Several of my friends work at the corvette plant but have been trying for years to get on at sun. It takes a lot to make the cut. When you work at sun you know your wprking with the best of the best. That's why they're always hiring because it takes a long time to build a workforce made up of only the highest quality workers. Truth of the matter is that Sun workers are the happiest people in bowling green. The secret is in the awesome pay scale, cause you just can't spend all the money

Yeah and I'm sure every surgeon in bg has taken that test at sun and can't pass it. Otherwise they would quit the hospitals and work at sun also.

I work at Sun. I have a great boss. I work with wonderful people. I am paid well and have good benefits. I like that we make products that I use in my home. Its clean, comfirtable, and safe People that are unhappy here are just unhappy people no matter what. I've never seen an organization that cared so much about their people. Friend, if you are unhappy, please leave. We're growing and adding new production lines. If you are looking for a place to work to provide for your family, if you want opportunities for advancement, if you are ready to work and understand that things are not perfect anywhere, then Sun can be that place for you.

Content, your in the vast huge minority, say 10 % or your management, a long timer, a lead or just on drugs. Sun IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO WORK FOR THE VAST MAJIRITY OF PEOPLE.
I have worked there, yes they have a huge turnover Rate because its a good job, ha, ha.

Lisa t, get off the PC and go do something to help your employees for once, dancing on Ron's desk ony helps Ron.

The truth is that all the people in the world need licorice. When I was a boy I grew peanuts in a jar. My sister would eat them and they gave her horrible gas. She won miss Tennessee but they wouldn't let her wear the crown her gas was so bad. That's when I switched to skim milk. We got rid of our ford and bought two riding chickens. You should do the same.
