this is one of the saddest things i've heard in a while. there are people who would give anything to have kids, and here obviously are several parents who just don't care about the ones the have.

Really? 19 children???? Who has 19 children??? Were the adults involved foster parents, adoption parents, natural parents?? I am so stunned at the sheer number of kids. Then add to that the fact the adults abandoned them in this heat wave with no air conditioning or food. News reports are saying the oldest was 14, then another say 17. I really would like to know more about this neglect case. NINETEEN KIDS!!?? WOW.

This is just horrible. I hope they lock anyone involved in these kids lives up. How do you not look in on your family. Do the kids have grandparents? OMG this makes me mad!!! My air here broke and its 86 in my house...i can not imagine being like that for weeks. No food, tears my heart out! 14 or 17 yrs dont matter. That CHILD should not be held responsible for that many kids! The kids that were maybe visiting....where are their parents? Dang lot of questions but I hope no matter what the parents of all these kids should NEVER lay eyes on them again. My babies go to even their grannys for the day I check on them,!!!!!!!!

I'm not surprised by this at all. We had a 'problem' family renting near us for a while. There were multiple kids, multiple neglect calls to the PD, multiple issues that were ongoing. Neighbors learned 5 of the kids (if I recall correctly) were foster kids, which led to several calls to that agency. When the pressure got to be enough, the skank moved to another area and took all the kids. No one ever protected/removed those kids despite the situation we all saw and all reported numerous times. PD can only do so much!!! Who the hell places kids in these homes and doesn't do random visits?

BTW the house was completely trashed after they moved. The owner had to replace drywall, carpet, etc. Dog feces throughout house. Could no official see that when they went in? Amazing to watch. Heard of horror stories like this but first time to watch it all unfold. Poor kids won't have a frickin' chance!

Unfortunately for the kids, the parents will be required to complete parenting classes and get the kids back. That happens a lot.

It says they weren't all her kids, so who in their right mind, left their kids with her to start with? They said they were on their way back from a family emergency and had car trouble? Hello, on your way back? Which means, you left them to go there to begin with. I agree with the neighbor on WBKO, I've called and reported things too and the DSS or police do nothing and then when they find a kid dead or whatever, everybody says, why didn't the neighbors try to get help for them. People do try, the officials don't listen.

I truly feel bad for all the kids. If circumstances in their lives don't change for the better, they will never stand a chance in hell of succeeding in life. Please don't misunderstand and think I am even referring to making mega bucks and having a great career. I'm just talking about growing up, being happy, having a job to support themselves, have a safe place to live, people who love and emotionally support them, getting married and having a family if they so desire. If you achieve those things then you are succeeding in life.
I hope all the kids can become the best they can be. But with this type of childhood the outcome looks dim. Some people really shouldn't reproduce.

This happened last year, same family. They had a "family emergency" in Chicago and left all the kids alone. Cops and social services were called and nothing was done. We went over and checked on them. they didn't even know how to contact their mom if they needed to.

i agree with you " who " the damn police don't give a s?it and you can not tell them nothing because they are so damn smart , the judge clean out the social service in my town for lieing to him about what a police officer did when he went to a house to check on some kids ,,,, haven't seen the officer scense , its a damn shame that these kids will never have a real kids life due to these low life parents that just kept dropping these out for the taxes payer to pay for ......

Owell looks like the police did do something about this. Police report possible neglect, social services then are the agency that can remove children. Police can only criminally charge parents, not remove children. Looks like both agencies did their jobs, that is why we are hearing about this story in the first place. I'm thankful for the person that called this in, the police and social services for getting these children from this awful situation. The parents punishment might not be severe enough in this life, but they will receive what they deserve in their next life.
