There are alot of people on cell phones and know they should not be on them but are anyway. I do not see this mentioned in the artical (BS)...so why don't you keep your openions to yourself until they find out what happened. You are a poor excuse for a human being.

How do you know if she was or wasn't on a cell phone? You have no more knowledge of what happened than anybody else at this point. |

How you accidentally drive right right into the path of a large truck? |

Maybe she was distracted by her husband. Maybe the kids distracted her. An animal could have run into the road. Perhaps she had a medical condition and was impaired. There are many reasons why a person could accidentally drive into the path of a large truck. I think it's pretty pathetic that some men here have to use cell phone and make-up to get their female hating agenda across. I realize these men have difficulties with women...they probably can't even get a date with their own hand. |

Imagine this...A little girl screaming, hanging partially out of the rear window, and across the lap of, OH MY, it was another child, I froze. The cop shows up rescues her. He gets her out of harms way with the help of another man who was also there. He said something to him & the man stayed at her side. The cop runs back, he ripped pieces off the Jeep, he couldn't get the child out! He stood there forever talking to that child in the backseat.
The second cop showed up she runs gets something to the first cop, who wouldn't move, didn't move. He was holding the child’s bloody head so he could breathe. As I moved closer to help I realized he was telling the child hold on squeeze my finger. He barked orders and people listened. I stepped back; all I could do was watch in awe. Then the other rescue workers make it, an ambulance first, more Troopers, and other Police Departments, he has help, finally. He was shaken but did not waiver. This man saved lives. How can any of the cops live with seeing the horrible aftermath of an accident I saw that day? My hat is off to you Trooper, especially to the one in Black, and to all of the rescue workers that were there. I did nothing, as I realized I could not. I am sorry. Lord forgive me for that, as I know I could not do what these men and women did that day. Thank You |

That Trooper you're are talking about is not even getting paid right now. Thank you pathetic politicians. Since you cannot do your job, this fine man is not even getting paid. |

My heart goes out to this family, especially the two little children. This is such a tragic event and I feel so sad and sorry for them and their family. My family and I are praying for a speedy recovery for the husband and their precious children.
Ok, now that that's outta the way, I have to ask the question that many of us here are too afraid to ask... What's with the crazy, mixed-up, disjointed names? The so-called husband was a "Muniz-Perez" and the so-called wife was a "Dorta-Santiago". Come on people! How does that happen?? Let me guess, the kid's last names are "Muniz-Perez-Dorta-Santia go". Huh? What is wrong with this confusing picture? The kids need a flow chart just to explain their family tree! That is so unfair and so sad. Listen, to all those who write comments to vent and have no idea what is going on. This is my cousin, and my family who are in the hospital. One would think after reading such a traumatizing article people would have some compassion but humanity is unfair and so judgmental. My cousin Yesenia the driver was a wonderful warm friendly person. A loving mother, and wife. She was not on any cell phone like any mother she was checking on her children when she lost control any common mistake. No makeup, or cellphone use so show some compassion this is why its called an accident. She fought breast cancer to live her life for her children and family and died in a fatal accident so before ANYONE decides to respond to such an article one should think of their own loved ones and NOT be so critical and judgmental to human life...WE are not GOD, and are not in a courtroom so don't JUDGE. To my cousin Yesenia, I love you and you are truly missed, God has received another angel. My cousin Frankie, and my beloved cousins I pray for your lives daily that you will be ok. Love Always, Your cousin Johanna

To "Jane Smith the American" Re:Your statement:

MY Response to such a criticizing and offensive statement: Fist of all their last names are hyphenated which means as a Puerto Rican our culture is to carry on our last name of both our parents which means the parents maiden name Mrs. or Miss Jane "the American." They were married so its not so-called like you stated but as posted in the newspaper article we respect our parents as Latinos and carry their names. The children will not need a flow chart or be confused. But will be able to explain and show their families their family history and that's why we have family trees as well. |

I wonder if that 5 year old girl was using a booster seat? The Morning Call has an official policy of not reporting on seatbelt/safety restraint use...but I think it could be a helpful warning for people. Even if this girl was using a vehicle seat belt, ejections are common because vehicle seat belts are designed for 165 lb adults, not 50 lb children.
As for the 9 year old...by PA law, not required to use a booster...but by the law of physics...if he is less than 4'8" tall/80 lbs he should have been in a booster as well. |

I want to thank those who wish this family well, I'm a cousin. There was no cell phone involved. They were heading home after an early errand they had to do for family and just a few minutes from home, so the make up theory is definitely out of the question. She was a great human being, a loving, friendly, and very optimistic person. She was a strong woman and would never do anything to harm her children. The little girl was in her booster seat. The condition of the husband and son is still critical and we hope everyone will keep them in their prayers for a soon recovery. Thanks to all the paramedics, state troopers, firemen, cops, and anyone else involved in rescuing my cousins. As Puerto Ricans we proudly take on both of our parents last name, therefore its very easy for the children to follow who they are...Muniz-Dorta.

I'm the uncle and received the horrifying call of the accident, therefore I can answer all of you. It's not the same to make a comment without feeling the pain of the family. Sometimes we make comments that are out of order. Today is was them and tommorrow God forbid can be anyone you love. Please think before making certain comments, because the family is in a lot of pain. An accident can happen to anyone, some can be preventable but others we will never know. Thanks to the cops, paramedics, firemen, nurses and doctors who are helping in keeping my nephews alive. Junior Muniz-Arocho

The Jessy I knew wasn't the kind of woman that could put her family in risk, by talking on a cell, or putting make up while driving, so I think this was a very unfortunated accident. I pray for her soul and for the recovery of the rest of the family |
