A jury of eight men and four women found former National Alliance Chairman Shaun Walker, former Utah State National Alliance Leader Travis Massey, and former National Alliance member Eric Egbert guilty Friday night (April 20th, 2007) on charges related to the racially-targetted 2002 beating of an Hispanic bar manager, and for another racially-targetted beating of an American Indian outside another bar three months later. The specific counts of the indictment were conspiracy to interfere with civil rights and interference with a federally-protected activity. View the following links for more information. Here are a couple of questions to trigger discussion: 1). The Hispanic bar owner, Jimmy Ballesteros, was assaulted in 2002. Why did he wait so long to seek justice? If I was beaten up by a group of people, I would have immediately filed charges. 2). Why did the jury attach so much weight to the testimony of the cowardly snitch Keith Cotter? Cotter sang to the Feds just to get a lighter sentence. That alone makes his testimony suspect.
The jury made an impulsive and hasty decision in this case, choosing political correctness over jurisprudence. You don't put someone in prison for 20 years just for a bar fight. They chose to kill a mosquito with a sledgehammer. Lady Liberty struck out in SLC, and she didn't even take the bat off her shoulder.

Ha! they got what they deserved, and Mr. Ballesteros is not the owner of O'Shucks. I hope they get the max sentence.

Hate crime what a joke. Just another way for the Scraelings to infest this sacred land, claim equal rights and then defile the once working class neighborhoods. The blood of our ancestors have hollowed this ground, and are we realy going to just sit idoly by and watch it be taken not by force, but by civil rights? I have a dream as well.......... but we'll need more rope.

Justice to me is when the punishment fits the crime, or maybe some what more rigid.
The victim in this crime testafied that he was able to go snowboarding the following day. Yet these perps, are serving 5 years of federal time.
That is not justice. That's a judical catastrophe of which we should be ashamed.

i've known travis massey for YEARS and although he may be guilty of the occasional barfight (what good cowboy isn't) there is no way he deserves 5 years in federal prison for this crime. what a waste of the judicial system and terribel way to learn a lesson in what language you use when you're drunk.

I commend these young men. These guys are heros in my book. Now all we need is for every white person, to stand up against integration. God bless them. White power from the south!
