1 Impared is incorrectly spelled. It is actually impaired. Oddly enough is correct in the caption for the video, but in the article and headline it is spelled wrong. PLEASE FIX THIS. |

if there is nothing a busload of blind kids needs....its loaded guns.

That's an interesting idea, though, I'm not certain blind people can actually buy guns, so it seems like a bit of a tease.

How wonderful. It's just so wonderful that people who aren't like us can think, process reality and shoot rifles as richly as we do.

Inspiring camp children to do things they otherwise wouldn't is great but allowing someone (even properly supervised) to shoot loaded deadly weapons who is visually impaired goes against safety training everyone recieves as a child or teeneage when it comes to rifles. If you can't see your target, don't shoot because you are ultimately responsable!

1 Just cause you don't like to do it, doesn't mean you have the right to stop others. Nothing in the constitution says "the right of the sighted and physically able people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." |

1 Let's move this one to when they're 16. Would it be so outrageous to let them drive, using a dual-driver system with steering wheels and pedals for the driver and the trainer sitting next to the driver? These teenagers simply wish to experience what sighted kids their age are doing, and doing so under strictly-controlled situations. Well, don't worry. When you're 70-ish and can no longer see to drive safely, I'm sure you'll be the FIRST to suggest handing over the keys and giving up that freedom. Happens 2 or 3 times a day in America, as compared to drivers whose vision is so impaired they plow into crowded farmer's markets with surprising regularity. Let kids be kids. With PROPER supervision, of course. |

taylored = tailored, impared = impaired.

1 If one of your grandchildren were to suddenly lose their sight, and, on their 16th birthday, say to you, "Gramps, all the kids my age are driving. Can we take your truck to an empty field, so I can give it a try? You'll be right there beside me if things start to go wrong. It's not like I'm asking to get on the interstate - it's an EMPTY FIELD!" What then? Still going to say no? I seriously doubt it. I suspect YOU got behind the wheel before it was legal (as did many of us, especially farm kids), so don't sound so righteous. |

Impaired, not impared, and tailored, not taylored.

Bravo. They look like they are having great fun. FYI - When you are blind, the world is a pretty small place. Things like this can expand their world tremendously.
They look like they are properly supervised. It's not like they're handing loaded guns to the kids and hoping for the best. This was inspiring. |

That is so cool!
