SALT LAKE CITY - Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and his LDS faith, have been put under a microscope this presidential election; possibly the harshest attack yet coming from MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell. O'Donnell criticized The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Tuesday saying, "Mormonism was created by a guy in upstate New York in 1830 ... (more)

Judged: 1 1 1 The left is the biggest bunch of liars and thieves and double standard tards on earth. Not to mention the pastor lives in a white neighborhood. And probably Sharpton and snagletoothed Jackson probably do also. |

Judged: 1 1 1 What it says is that-----when a shoplifter is a Mormon, there are many shoplifters who are not Mormons too, but as much bigger numbers. When a few Mormons who would do those things, there are many others who also do those things ----but these people are of a huge number, much bigger number than Mormons-they may be your neighbours you may not know. You cannot group people by using what other Mormons do, to put label on Romney, because he is dignified, clean and noble, and that is what it counts and matters. STOP this nuisance by wasting time. It is not the issue----it will backlash against those who do. People should focus on essential and important matters and public policy. Why don't you look into Bill Clinton instead with Lewinsky because he had done wrong during office while Romney has not done such? The question is what Romney has done in comparison to Clinton? *(&+*()& Isn’t that out of line and of ridiculous absurdity---the point is what Romney has done? Many Mormons are great people, and Romney is more than a great moral man with charisma. THERE SHOULD NOT BE THE MORMON matter IN THE ELECTION because it is not related to any subject appropriately in a modern democracy nowadays. That will show an under-educated democracy and backwardness. IT IS QUESTIONABLE IF OBAMA IS A Real CHRISTIAN , or, is of true Muslim faith. You cannot group people by using what other Mormons do, to put label on Romney, because he is dignified, clean and noble, and that is what it counts and matters. THAT IS THE WAY IT IS FOR ALL. ^&*()_+^*&()(*&^*^ & |

You have to look into others who are not Mormons too, marrying a lot or fooling around. By far, other people ( of all cultures, race and color) are at least 1000 times in terms of numbers, more than those few .

The question is what Romney has done in comparison to Obama and Clinton in their private lives? There must be normal and logical people to come up with reasons. From those by random smearing,it is disturbing to know of such troublesome people, like Lawrence O'Donnell, which would put questionables of their such acts under examination. There are doubts and skeptism of what these (e.g., O'Donnell ) disqualified people's natures and backgrounds are of any legitimacy and validity, and should be put under scrutiny of self-destructive , to be causing public nuisance and obstruction . *(&+*()& Isn’t that out of line and of ridiculous absurdity---the point is what Romney has done? Judged: 1 1 1 The bit about having sex with a maid is a flat out myth. There is no factual evidence of it. Let’s see, we can’t get Mitt Romney on his good moral character and values-centered life, so let’s get him on his religion! True, Mitt Romney believes in the doctrines of the Mormon faith (along with 14.5 million other Mormons. Those beliefs are spelled out in great detail (see www.lds.org and www.mormon.org .) However, Mitt Romney does not believe that Joseph Smith had sex with a maid because it is a myth with no basis in fact. Just because this trash is out on the internet and through numerous groups with an anti-Mormon agenda does not make it true. The LDS Church has every document associated with the life of Joseph Smith available for perusal in their church history archives. It’s there for all to see! Those documents are now easily available for all to see as a result of a project called “The Joseph Smith Papers”. Anyone willing to take the time, can learn for themselves the truth about the real character of Joseph Smith. Unfortunately, there will always be those on the outside trying to tell those on the inside what they believe. I guess this is what we can expect from MSNBC. Shame on them for allowing this kind of bigotry from Lawrence O’Donnell. Who else at MSNBC was behind the production of this segment? Let us expose this organization for what it is – an extreme left wing smear organization. I believe in free speech, but this of kind of mean-spirited diatribe is inexcusable and should be called out by every media outlet, journalist, politician, pastor, bishop, priest, rabbi, atheist and citizen of this great country. America is about acceptance, diversity and inclusion. |

I'm curious, if I can't trust Mr. O'Donnell with a story about Joseph Smith, how can I get an objective answer to simple questions such as the following -
Did Joseph Smith practice polygamy? If so, with how many other women besides Emma Smith? Is it true he had polygamous relationships with women who already had husbands? I'm rather leary of just depending on the LDS to explain it, as I am of the anti-Mormon critics. Whatever the documented evidence suggests is where I'd like to hang my hat. |

Judged: 3 2 2 And the 'Mormon problem' damn sure won't be coming from the left - It will be coming from the Reich-wing evangelical Christo-Nazi fundis. "The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer, like others on the Religious Right, has continually attacked Mormons, even going so far as to say their faith shouldn't be protected by the First Amendment and claiming that a Mormon president would threaten the "spiritual health" of the nation. But Fischer warned in a column yesterday that the "the out-of-the-mainstream media" will attack "every unusual thing Mormons have ever believed or done" -- helpfully listing a litany of things he deems "unusual" about Mormonism. "The Southern Baptist Convention's Richard Land has likewise claimed that progressives will make Romney's faith a campaign issue -- while he himself insists that Mormonism is "technically... a cult." "The Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody used the same tactic this week when he posted a video of a Ron Paul supporter grilling Romney on quotes from Mormon scripture -- and then claiming that Democrats and liberals will be the ones to attack Romney's faith. "The Values Voter Summit, the Religious Right's marquee event, fell apart last year after the pastor who introduced Gov. Rick Perry repeated his claims that Mormonism is a "cult" that worships a "false god." "Meanwhile, one of the most powerful Democrats in the country, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, hasn't been held back by any progressive backlash to his Mormon faith. "Romney is receiving attacks on his faith. But, as much as the right-wing media is trying to spin it otherwise, those attacks are not coming from progressives...." Judged: 3 2 2 Much of the worst of Mormonism can be proven by just using LDS sources Connie. Talking about murderers, have you heard of the Danites? Of the Avenging Angels? Of the extermination order Joseph Smith put on Gov Boggs, who then returned the favor? Ever hear of the Mountain Meadow Massacre? Of Blood Atonement? Of the temple oath by every member to avenge the blood of Joseph Smith until 1907? |
