get over yourself if you had a harley or even a big loud truck you wouldn't see any problem with it but because you dont...all you wanna do is complain...seriously you cant control what other people do and if it so horrible why dont you move...and what harley dealer is in "Sun City" anyways....find something better to do with your time
If you're talking to me, I have 2 Class III Quad Racers that are louder than any Harley or truck you'll ever hear. I have respect for my neighbors though, so I don't even fire them up in my garage. I also have a 2001 F-150 that had dual exhaust that drove me nuts with the noise, so I went back to the stock muffler and exhaust. You just THOUGHT you knew me.

Have you ever thought they were trying to run you over on purpose to shut you up?. hahha

There is only one reason why anyone would have a 12 inch woofer in their car, pipes so loud you can hear them from 3 blocks away, a motorcyle helmet with a mohawk on it, a spolier on a honda, or a truck you need a ladder to get into. Its called Attention Deficit Disorder.

Ask yourselves, why are you trying so hard to get people to notice you?

I agree with your comment about Harley's in neighborhoods. I live on a fairly busy street in San Diego and there are Harley's that are so loud they set off car alarms (I am assuming they are illegally customizing their bikes to be this loud?). How utterly inconsiderate!

The noise of a Harley on a Freeway is one thing but how about the hundreds of people they drive by constantly irritating in neighborhoods?

It's not just the Harleys. Have you ever sat in traffic next to some idiot kid trying to pretend he's "50 cent" and blasting out massive bass from some crappy aftermarket subwoofer?
I don't mind a passing Harley. It's a minor irritation. I *do* mind it when it passes by my house at 3 am and wakes the entire neighborhood up.
Just like almost everything it comes down to being considerate.
If your bike is really loud, don't throttle it hard through a suburban neighborhood, especially when others are probably sleeping. On the other side, try not to complain too much because someone drove their bike down the street and it was mildly irritating for 3 seconds.

I am 61 and I love driving my Harley. I don't speed and I don't rev. I am considerate and find that most drivers are very considerate of me. Most large Harley riders don't drive between cars on the freeways and therefore don't get into as many accidents. Cel phones are a problem but what can you do? Emergencies do happen, and the cel phone is essential, however, headsets would help. By the way, I don't drive through residential areas at 3am.

If I knew you were a dick, on top of having a loud bike, I'd cut you off, make you wreck, and hope you died bleeding to death in a ditch. WTF would you be able to do about it? Dickhead.

Personally I'm all for freedom & rights - and that includes my right to sleep thru the night without some jackass flying thru the neighborhood shaking the walls with his illegal exhaust. It also includes my right to enjoy my backyard on a sunny day and expect a little peace and quiet. I don't understand why breaking sound laws is suddenly o.k. with the police. I've seen police escorting groups of 50 or more harleys with illegal exhaust thru town because they're having some special event. This 'all about me' attitude that people have is bizarre to me. I've heard the 'loud exhaust saves lives' excuse and that's a bunch of crap. I drive a small car - should I put a monster exhaust on it just so no one will run into me? Or how about an air horn on my bicycle that I can blow every 2 seconds? Or maybe I should walk down the street screaming so that I'm noticed and no one will run me over. And can someone please tell me why it's o.k. for harley riders to park their little masterpieces on the sidewalk these days? Is the PARKING LOT too dangerous for them?? I've come across some harleys on the road that don't have illegal exhaust and I truly admire the people who ride them. They're enjoying themselves and not imposing anything on anyone else. That's really all I'm asking for - enjoy yourself, have a good time and don't impose your idea of fun on someone who's just trying to make it thru their day and relax.

For those of you that have not planted your ass on a Harley or similar bike, your whines are not even relavent. Go ride down the road for a day and then offer your opinion. Before calling bikers "losers", educate yourself on how much a lot of these bikes cost & how much some of these so-called losers earn in a year. You might have just praised your doctor for expert medical advise & if you knew he rode a Harley full throttle, I doubt you would call him a loser.

The things a loud Harley and it's rider have in common; their both pieces of crap, take up too much space on the road, and both are loud with no power to back it up!

Do you know the difference between a Harley and a vacuum cleaner? Where the dirt bag is positioned on the machine.

Nomad, Just because my Mercedes cost $50,000, I'm educated and make a big yearly wage does not mean it's o.k. for me to rip thru your neighborhood with illegal pipes and ruin your peace. Education+lots of $$$ doesn't make someone a considerate person.

it is amazing that no matter what the issue every one is an extremist.
Yes motorcylces are loud and when they run through your neighbor hood at 3 am it can be annoying but how about the countless bikes that roll through with our reving their engines trying to be considerate.
here in colorado one of the last free states I know more riders who are considerate than not, and to hold a few bad seeds against the rest of us is just as outrageous as calling every person from the middle east a terrorist.
try and have some respect for people and they will give it back. stop targeting bikers and maybe they will listen, keep trying to take away their fun and it will only get worse

Loud noise is a prolem everywhere. My neighbor drives a jacked up, suped up, big wheel truck. He warms the thing up at 4 A.M., 6 out of 7 days a week, for a period of 20 or more minutes. When I lived in Arizona I had the same problem with jets from Luke A.F.B.. The bottom line is your going to have noise wherever you go! You could live in the woods and have the cyotes howling, pinecones hitting your house and trees falling. Big Deal! Get over it.
stop your whining

the louder the noise = smaller brain
the fatter the noise = smaller penis
the more riders together = the more cowardly individual

someone should set up a foundation to help these people fit in with regular society...poor things!

I too ride a Harley, My little one is eleven and she rides with me the most. Yes I have very loud pipes. When I am riding with her or in any neighborhoods I try to go Stealth, But if I am on the highway or some dumb a++ in vehicle has no regaurd for my bike I promise you will hear me. I am 46 years old and what I have seen the most is young kids on metric bikes being the offenders. Have you priced Harley Lately????
