Why is Molly McCAll not coaching Varsity Volleyball? She is a great coach and teacher, maybe parents need to ask the School Board to justify their position. Remember they work for YOU!

Yes, start asking questions. Not only did Mrs. McCall get the axe but I heard 3 other good coaches quit their coaching positions to show support. The kids lose again. when does it end?

Who is coaching then? Isn't Ms.Mccall still the gym teacher? Why would they not let her coach?

She is still a gym teacher just not a coach anymore. Rumor has it that a kid (s) didn't get enough playing time, I thought once you got beyond little league guaranteed playing time was over. I guess it doesn't matter that you have a winning team as long as everyone gets equal playing time, pamper and protect the kid a little more why don't you.

The school board has had an axe to grind with all athletics at ACS for years. This is happening because of a few female board members with some personal issues with the coaching staff. Id like to see ALL THE COACHES RESIGN. Let the kids suffer and instead of playing sports they can sit at home and get fat playing XBox or they can roam the streets causing problems. Until the parents stand up to this board they will continue to prevent athletic progress.

Board of Education=Pepole trying to inflate their ego by attaining a position of "power" and "prestige." Or so they think. They are simpletons that or unfit to analyze budgets or hold that position. Why do we need a school board again?

Superintendent was making phone calls to people he wanted on the Board last year, asking them to please run for Board. Is that right?

Molly's a great coach! That is too bad. Who did they replace her with?

I'm sure it wasn't with any of the ex-coaches friends, because they wouldn't stick a knife in their friends back by accepting the positions or would they???? A friend is a freind until it involves money or management pressure. All the coaches should have resigned in support, so much for unity.

If someone loses their job where you work because of their behavior, would you resign your job? That doesn't make any sense at all. Don't even act like it is everyone else's responsibility to make the school pay for not re-hiring her to a coaching position. She has nothing to do with how the other coaches perform and they should not feel like they have to resign their jobs to support someone.

We're not talking about the bread winning job, just a side line extra income job. Like so many other jobs, to many people get caught in a managerial power play or a personal agendas vendetta and of course, all are not treated equal. Case in point, I haven't heard a thing about what happened to the assistant football coach that hit a player at the Ludden game. That's been kept real quiet. So, I guess that if you don't play a kid enough time or yell at them the wrong way you get fired but if you hit a kid it's kept quiet? seems fair.....NOT

You should not be asking other coaches to give up there jobs! That is not smart at all. How do you know how much $2000 effects someones income? I believe you are mistaken about the Ludden game also, it was not the Ludden game. Obviously you do not follow ACS Football as closely as ACS Volleyball.

I was told that the appointments are made from applications. And it's about coaching children. It's not about the adult. It would make sense that the coaches would be chosen from reviewing applications and choosing the one best qualified. It's not a life long position. Once chosen always chosen. It's maybe a yearly review and appointment. And again it's about what's the best for the students, not what's the best for the applicant.

He was removed for the rest of the season and can not coach for at least a year. Which is hardly a punishment,

Parents and community members should attend Tuesdays board of ed meeting at the High School and TELL the board they want Ms. McCall as their coach! They are elected and work for you.

There is no application-the athletic director makes a recommendation to the board, they approve.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
