Welfare....the facts!

Maybe you should learn about "your" States "welfare" system. First off, it is called "temporary assistance", and it is "temporary". There is a very tough process to get accepted too. Even people lving in their cars gt denied the first few times.

Also, 1982 is over, this is 2012. In the country I live in we don't let our poor go hungry. We all pay taxes, even the poor. If you dont like it, move to Somalia. But real men, who fought real wars fought for these people to not be hungry, I'll pay taxes for any person who cant find a job, or is disabled. Because I love my Country!! All you do is complain about how hard you have to work to pay taxes. Maybe you should hoave got a better degree, hotter wife, better car, nicer house, but ont take your unhappiness out on poor and disabled people. YOU ARE A BULLY!!!!

Moron...If stores are giving cash refunds for foodstamps, thy are breaking the law. So no that does not happen. What stores, report them to the authorities??????????

I'm not a DR., and I am sure you are not either. It is not up to you to define "need". Disabled people can drive too, should we call DMV and tell them to cancel all Handicapped stickers because we had to pay for spots too?

These people didnt just walk in and say, "I'm disabled pay me." There is an INTENSIVE qualification process that takes years. you have to see MANY Dr's. I dont think all these people out there are outsmarting PHD's. How about this, you keep your share. It is not doing much for any of them individually any way. Move to another country and make fun of my Country so you can go run with the enemy. Stop trying to divide people. We are all equal. Because you make a little more than someone here in town doesn't make you important or special. Also I dont need a job, I own multiple businesses, and I receive retirement from our WONDERFUL government. Do I "need" it? Do I "deserve" it? Yes, because I was dodging bullets, when whiners like you where here whining about how you have to pay "welfare" for someone, when what you paid in your life, barely equates what they receive in a month.

Welfare needs to be temporary only. Disbility is a sham in some cases and needs to be investigated. The same should be true for social security disability cases. Is there a hot line where abuse of the system can be called in? Does anyone know? I would not deny anyone who is truely in need. I just think that system cheaters need to be held accountable. They give those in real need, a black eye.

No one gets change back from food stamps.all transactions are done electronicaly like a debit card.Yes there are hundreds of thousands of people on social security disability with the only disability being that they dont want to work.And no,there is nothing you can do about.

Hey azz wipe, they use a card now a days so get with the times!! There is no paper money or change so your a bit off base and under educated!! I know a guy who is disabled and tries to do things and pays for it dearly, but has been fighting for disability for 6 yrs and with their guide lines has been told no, no, no! Get over your self, your not as perfect as you seem to think you are and could definitely use an education!

this is a great thread, gives tax payer and welfare recipient a chance to vent.I think most taxpayers are pissed cause jobs are tight and everyone knows women who are single jobless mothers of 2 or 3.with tattoos. raising those babies to be a burden to others too! I feel there are those who have lost jobs thanx to the thieves in d.c.These deserve a help. I dont know why any of you dont stop to realize that we spend WAAAAAAYYYYYYY more in foreign aid to feed ppl in other countries than we could ever hand out here in our own cointry. if you want ti gripe about something gripe about that. Id rather pay taxes to take care of our own than send medical assistance and food to ppl we have no hope of rehabilitating and possibly getting their asses back to work and lessening our tax burden. And why is it that our disabled military personnel have such a hard time getting the help they need? Because our government cares more about other countries than the ppl they caused to be disabled in the first place.

No foreign aid and no aid to the poor. If you work you eat. MY MONEY IS MINE I MADE IT...I have had it worth the worthless people dragging this country down. We cant afford the foreign aid or public assistance. You cant spend more than you take in. No more borrowing. No more tax returns for more than you paid in. It is time to stop rewarding people for bad decisions.

So what do you want to do with the poor? Shoot them? There are some people who are unable to work. There are people who lost their jobs. They need to be helped by the government and yes...your tax dollars and mine. It's the right thing to do. I love it how these tea baggers brag about how Christian they are. In the next sentence they talk about cutting people off of social services.
Second point.....This country needs to find a way to stop the fraud in the social service and welfare system. Too many people are getting help when they should or could be working. My plan, if you've lost your job and can't find a job, then you should receive unemployment benefits. If you find a job making $8.00 an hour, and you were making $15.00 an hour in your last job, you should still be elegible to get benefits as long as you are working. if you sit on your butt and don't find a job, even a low paying job, your benefits should decrease to nothing. If you are disabled, you should be albe to receive benefits but you should also be made to find a job that you are able to do. Too much time on your hands is not good. If you are on welfare, you should be forced be drug tested when you pick up your check. Dirty pee means no check! Finaly, to the single mother's who breed like bunnies, two kidds whould be your max...after that, they should be sterilized or slowly loose their benefits. Their kids receive benefits but not mom. That's the way it should be.

Oh you wouldn't. What are you a Doctor of?? How can you tell if somene is disabled, and go read some stats on Disabilty, and educate yourself. Most cases are denied, and there is an investigation, and sometimes legal hearings.

Some of you make me sick. I did not know their are so many hateful and hurtful people in this town. I was once what you call a ?? and now am what you are calling one of those people. It is quite apparent that all of you think that everyone on Disabilty is of super high intelligence, that we can outsmart x-rays, ct scans, our Dr's, SSA's Doctor's. I think you think life is great. Just because I see someone working on their house for fifteen minutes, does not qulify them to work a full 8 hour day. Also, you are all just one slip and fall, one fender bender, one stroke, or one heart attack from being disabled. Then when the system denies you for years, and you have to lose everything, move to a shelter, live in a car, etc. you will then see what it is really like to try to go on Disability. Again I am sickened by my communities lack of Patriotism. Stop foriegn aid, dont hurt our poor and sick, or try to report them becuase you with your high school diploma or associate's degree think they are wrong. What is a Disabled person supposed to look like any way? Should Veteran's with PTSD get Disability, they look fine? What about the guy dying of cancer, he looks good too, should he get disability?

hey, i am disabled and i pay more taxes than almost anybody in town. stop whining and crying, you are not disabled, you have nothing to complain about except for your own life's misery. it seems to mee this town has cannotations of racism, and discriminating against the disabled.

I said earlier that truely disabled people should get disability benefits. But, you know and I know that there is a whole group of lawyers who specialize in getting undesserving people get disability. I have a family member who really had pain BUT he couldn't get disability. So he went to one of those lawyers. They had him go to a shrink and he is now considered to be mentally Ill. He has disability now and he does absolutely NOTHING in his day. He could and should be working some sort of job. He has pain yes, but there are jobs he could be doing. Too much idle time is not good. I've seen it first hand and it's wrong.

We do care for lour veterans as well as truely disabled. It's the "takers" in this town I have a problem with...and there are plenty of them. I'm n ot saying you don't desserve your disability benefits, but isn't there something you can do? Take a look at Paulie Hance. He's disabled but he cleans and shovels people's sidewalks and delivers breakfast to people in town. He's doing something. Maybe you have pain, can's you sort clothes at Matthew's place, work part time at a cash register somewhere? How about secretarial work? is that possible?

Thank you. Multiple physical disability's and PTSD. It is the nightmare's more than anything that cause m not to be able to function normally. I don't "play well" with others becaus of my PTSD as well, and have been throuh a total of over 21 jobs in 7 years before I was finally awarded Disabilty. I lived in attics, couches, cars etc. But I tell you this for sure, there are a lot of people in this town ho run there mouth's about me. One in partiular never even served his Country, let alone served Combat.I DEFINATELY as a Combt Veteran do NOT feel loved or appreciated by my fellow Boonville citizen's. That is why I started this thread. It is a shame there are laws stating that I do not have to explain my disability to people, but I have been verbally assaulted by people in this town on Multiple occassions, and the ignorance of, "he deserves it, and he doesn't" is sickening, dis-heartening, it makes me sad I served in Combat to be treated like this. I can sweep the floor with these people, even Disabled, TRUST ME, but that is not the solution. I WOULD LOVE TOO THOUGH. and BTW, I am on foodstamps (aka what you call "welfare"), and I pay a LOT of money in Taxes, and have not received a tax refund in over 5 years.
