I called the city of Auburn about the traffic light on Auburn Way and 2nd by Safeway to complain about how long it stays red at non peak hours. When waiting at the light you can watch all the other lights at nearby intersection turn green 2 or 3 time before the one on Auburn Way and 2nd. They told me all lights in Auburn are camera activated and it works fine and there are no plans to fix it and no one else has complained about it. I also told them that cars are bypassing the intersection by cutting through the cleaners or the Shell station. We need others to call and complain about this traffic light.

Auburn is stuck in the old days. When sitting on a red light you can see the next light ahead green when ytour light turns green that light turns red.
The City of auburnreally needs to get its trafficv lights and street construction right.

I have also complained about this light, it takes forever to change. City says it works fine, sure. Works for the next light by leting too many cars across to back up at 4th and auburn way where the red light camera is. What a way to make money, back up drivers, block intersection, so more will run the red light. City is rippin us off, yet say were more then you imagine. Ya, the most ripped off, and the poorest city!

So no money to fix the neighborhood streets, lights, signs, etc.

Auburn should be renamed "Hicksville, WA. They think that some stupid cameras at intersections make them a big deal, when in fact they are being removed from most major cities. The Good old boys who run things in that jerkwater town should get with the 21st century.

Notice the worst intersection at rush hour was the first to get a camera. Mayor is money hungry, and wants the rich life Auburn don't have the money for.

The SOS program is rippin us off! our streets are falling apart, yet the program is supposed to be fixin them. Well it has been taking our taxes for almost 6 yrs and now the city Mayor wants four more years. Says we need more money, time. Did you know some of our SOS money fixed roads in Muckleshoot,Arterial not residental! That is not what it is for. Has anyone voted for that? Lewis just wants a fancy city that we cannot afford. Like downtown, have you seen his new idea? Why don't we get a vote to tear down all the heritage of Auburn? we are not Bellevue!

I agree with the light at 2nd and Auburn Way South but the backup is caused by the State ran lights at SR-18. The State refuses to sync their lights to the city light system and from what I hear, it would cost the city about 1 million dollars to re-sync all the Auburn Way lights to the 2 State operated traffic lights. The city feels the State should budge on this and pay to have their two lights sync up with Auburn's 20.
But for sure, there are several lights in Auburn that are awful in non-peak hours. Maybe a tech can actually drive around at 0300 and see how long they wait at each of these lights. They are certainly not "on demand" via the camera system.
