I feel sorry for who wins. Looks like they will be a 1 term super anyway. With the schools losing money every year to Florida Virtual School and the schools in need of repair and over crowding issue. Budget going down cost going up. They will have to make a lot of unpleasant decision they will make them disliked. They will have to cut programs layoff people or even worse, School consolidation. We do not need someone without business experience. The real issue is who can hold things together stay in budget and keep things moving forward. The next super will need to keep in mind the kids best interest not his political future is what is important and make the right choices to give our kids the best education possible. With more and more money having to go to fuel and technology this will be an interesting next few years.

"Intelligence"...Tha t would be funny if it wern't so sad. Tell that to the smart teachers who have to put up with all that "intelligence". They, and other employees know the truths. I'm sure most won't speak up for fear of losing their jobs. Can't say that I blame them. A good administrator does not throw his or her weight around, just because they happen to occupy the principal's chair. A bully is a bully, and most bullies, sooner or later, get a taste of their own medicine. I hope the present administrator bows out, as you say, "gracefully".

Really great seeing the Terry Mears signs up over town. Noway Eddie Dixon should be voted in. He can not be trusted. He is in bed with Jean West and the next four years will only be more of what we have now. I understand that Buddy Brown is running. What a joke. He is also in bed with Jean West. No one tied to this current administration should be voted into office. Terry Mears is what we need in office. We need clean, honest blood in the superintendent's chair. This district is corrupt and someone needs to come in and try and get it back on track. No Dixons or Browns in office!
I personnaly know each candidate in this race and we all have skeletons in our closet that we are not proud of including myself, but to make it seem like "Mears" is of the highest moral character might be a mistake as well. I am not supporting any candidate, all I am on here to ask is before you make your decision based on Brown/Dixon faults you may want to talk with "Mears" two daughters that both graduated from Holmes County High. Be careful when opening that door because you may find some very dusty skeletons in that closet!

The mears are nothing but liers. They tell you one thing and do another. And it does not state anywhere that you have to be in the school system to run for the Superintindent office. You want to bash Jody Long but look at Terry Mears wife daughter that dress like a stripper. Dont need to be pointing fingers because there is no one perfect in this world but one person and that is God. And from what i know Jody Long and his wife are very happy.
WOW...from the public appearances I have seen from Terry Mears and family who would even think they could dress like a stripper?

I don't know any of the candidates, but I'm aware of some of the "workings" of the present administration. And I don't like what I see. Digging up dirt on someone's family is not what this race is about either. The question is, who is the best person for the job?

Belford Unversity is where Mr. Mears got his degrees....

A 2005 investigative report on WHEC-TV in Rochester, New York, characterized Belford as "just one of hundreds of diploma mills easily accessible online."

According to David Linkletter of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Belford "is not a legitimate institute of higher education. No legitimate university offers a complete degree on the basis of one's life experience. I particularly like the 'order now' button on their Web site, which is another clue...To the extent that Belford University is in Texas, it is operating in violation of the Texas Education Code."[1] Furthermore, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has indicated that Belford, Rochville University, and the agencies from which they claim accreditation "appear to be operated by the same people.

I'm not voting for someone who got their degree based on life Experience....
