There you go again "Holmes County Citizen" you say that you don't know this woman but you still are going by what you hear. Do your homework first before you just assume. And yes I do know more than just assuming, but thanks for asking.

I have stated my support for Terry Mears, but will not be too disapointed if Brown or Long are elected. I, among others, simply want the present administration removed. Our reasons are varied and many. As I have mentioned before, I am not personally acquainted with any of the candidates, but I am not completely in the dark. Past history kind of speaks for itself.

Just a few comments regarding Terry Mears. I hear he has been referred to as an "outsider". This is beyond hilarious...check your facts before you show such a lack of knowledge. I grew up a few houses away from Mr. Mears. He was raised right here in Holmes County, attended our schools, and graduated from HCHS. His credentials are impressive, and he loves this area. Having taught both at the elementary and college level, he loves helping students. He holds a Masters Degree, and so certainly meets the educational criteria. In addition, he is a combat decorated veteran. Wake up, folks...we need someone dedicated to the good of our children, and someone who owes the "good old boy" network...not a doggone thing! Go, Terry!

Country Girl wrote: Mears qualified, please do your homework before running your mouth. And Mr.Griffin a Christian man please you don't church hop like he did to win votes OH but that's what he did. Know your story before running your mouth. Country Girl, YOU apparently do not personally know Mr. Griffin. He did change churches, but it was because of his teenage daughters. They did not have a youth ministry where they were attending and since God appointed man as the head of the household, he moved his family to keep them together since he knows that his daughters souls is most important. Did the move gain him votes? Maybe! Just so you know, I am not one to run my mouth without knowing the facts about what I am addressing. Take care and may God bless everyone.

When cook is voted out griffin will go with her. i just found out today from a friend who works at the tech school that another griffin/cook crony was just forced out of the principal position of washington holmes technical school. She gave steve griffin's wife a job there when she was running the place. I dont know her name but there is another crony who will be coming our way. Looks like Buddy Brown is going to have to pay steve griffin's politcial debt with another high paying job in holmes county for her. How many good Holmes county people are going to lose their jobs until Buddy Brown satisfies Steve Griffin's political debts? I would like for you to explain yourself concerning "Steve Griffin's political debts". What political debts are owed to him?

Assumptions can get a person in trouble because then you might believe in the wrong person or subject. Country Girl is not as knowledgeable about Mr. Griffin as she seems to think she is. I can't say a thing about this lady at the Holmes County School Board because I do not know her. I would not know her if I met her on the street. On the other hand, I might know her if I saw her, but I can't put a face to the name.

She is the best lady you could meet and if you want somebody who cares about kids and not about politics, shes the lady. She works super hard and does the jobs nobody else wants to do, all to keep kids in school and help them be successful. Furthermore, she doesnt give a durn what adults think of her. She's got a clear conscience and thats all that matters.

I know s lady that works at the school board and has for a long time and I have never heard her say anything negative about her, so I just don't pay much attention to negative comments about certain people.

Again, you need to check things out before you say anything. The person you are talking about being out of her job at VoTech, is indeed still at her job, and doing a great job on top of that. It doesn't matter who she hired to be her secretary. Mrs. Griffin is doing her job there, and maybe the reason she is working there is that Holmes County would not hire her because she is Steve's wife. Remember the dirty deal that Steve got after he lost the election.. He got the same treatment he gave Mr. Hudson, and remember, Mr. Hudson did not run when Mr Griffin was elected. Dirty games do not pay off in the long run......Vote for Terry Mears, and all this crap will stop, and if not, we elect someone else when his four years are up. Maybe the light will come on and these people will realize we are tired of the dirt they continue to throw at us....

Mears has my vote. Great guy...the school board and clerk of court election has my attention though. There really isn't much to choose from on either ballot.

Old Timer wrote: Fred soesn't know the story on the church thing either. Old Timer, According to your quote above, You apparently don't know the story like you think you do either. It is amazing that you and Country Girl think that you know the truth about Steve Griffin when you don't. I have known Mr. Griffin's parents since before he was born and over the years, I have watched him grow up and raise his family. I have talked with his family and with him. I know what I am talking about. Apparently you don't. I do not talk about things without knowing for sure that I know the truth about what I am talking about. So please don't say that I don't know the story on the church thing. I do! It is evident that there are some of you that has nothing better to do than try to ruin a person's reputation. Why can't you people say something good about a person instead of just running your mouths without knowing the truth about what you are talking about. May the best person win in these county, state elections and may the sitting President be removed from office. God bless everyone!

So swearing out a complaint against another church member wasn't part of it? Some of his own family members will tell you he lied to them.

What really bothers me most about this topic is the spelling of superintendent in the title. Surely this was not started by one of the candidates. Let's hope not or we are in BIG trouble.

Let's hope not or we are in BIG trouble. I have many frailities, one being I'm not a good spseller. However, there is the good ole dictionary who has been, and remains, my friend. Sometimes I slip up and misspell a word through carelessness or...whatever. I did not start this post but can empathize with the individual who did. I do wish he or she had checked the spelling before posting.

So much has been said about Terry Mears not being from Holmes County, or being qualified for the position of Superintendent of Schools......Read this!!! Holmes County Native 1973 HCHS Graduate Retired Combat Decorated Veteran 18 Years Teaching Experience Elementary Teacher College Professor Master's Degree Education Administration. If you do not believe this, check him out.... All three men have the experience, but I feel Terry Mears is our best bet for Superintendent of our schools in Holmes County.
