Delivering outstanding customer service is of great importance to David Goldberg, president of Nassau's Furniture in South Windsor.

We contacted Nassau's when we had a problem with our new carpeting that had been installed in large two bedrooms and a hall. I called to report the problem and was told that an installer would be out the same day. That day, right on schedule, the installer arrived to examine the carpet. He determined there was a problem, then asked when it would be best for him to come back to try and fix it. Again, he was right on time for the appointment. Though the installer tried mightily and patiently to fix the problem, we were still unsatisfied.

The installer suggested that we call Goldberg in the morning to share our concerns. Before I could even place the call, Goldberg called me! Goldberg sent an independent carpet specialist to evaluate the problem. Once he got the report, Goldberg called back and told us to come pick out new carpet. He not only allowed us to upgrade a bit at no additional cost, but told us they would move all of the furniture (which we had originally moved ourselves) at no cost.

At all times during this process, we were treated respectfully and honestly. Goldberg clearly wanted to be sure we were happy customers.

The second installation went smoothly, the new carpet looks terrific and we are VERY happy customers!

Well, O happy day. Maybe you ought to empty the house and put all new furniture in it. Then you could write a book about it and have Goldberg autograph copies for you.

I had such a bad experience, I was in tears. I went to nassau Furniture in South Windsor to buy a mattress. I ordered a full mattress, frame and ended up also buying a coktail table and end table. They said my mattress will arrive in 5 days and will be deleivered. It didi arrive in 5 days however their truck was full and they wouldnt make delivery for another week. In meantime I tried canceling the tables that were in stock the day after they were purchased. After thought I realized the cocktail tabel was dangerous due to the wway the top slid off. with kids I didnt want to take a risk. I called several times and they said tI had to deal with the salesman John. John never returned my call. I finally spoke with the owner and he siad even thoguh they werent delivered he would not credit my depsoit and if I dent pay in full and have them delievered he would forfeit my deposit. The product had not been delivered. I explained to him my concern and he said,:thast too bad, its a final sale" I can understand final sale if I picked them up or they were delivered but the products were still in his store. He also charged my credit card 3 times without authorization. Be careful when using your crdit card they have a system where they just run a transaction without signature.
I told the owner my family has been doing business with Nassau for over 20 years...I asked him if he really wanted to lose our future business and he said,"YES". I couldnt believe it. Im still trying to get the mattress..however they are holding it until full payment is made on the cocktail and end tables. In the meantime they have charged my crdit card 600 and I dont have a mattress or any of their products in my home. I sent a dispute to the credit card company and am in a waiting mode.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Virgo

Someone is being headstrong and wilful, and absolutely determined to do what they want. Mercury is retrograde and it's a Full Moon in Cancer with a lunar eclipse all happening tonight! This could lead to some heated discussions and possibly even rows, as you argue the toss back and forth. It might be best to accept that there's very little possibility of reaching an agreement rather than to get locked in a stubborn battle of wills. Besides, you don't want anything to spoil what promises to be a very enjoyable New Year's Eve. Have fun!
