David Kuzmak knew that when he started his first job and earned his first paycheck, a portion of that check would go to Habitat for Humanity.

Are you mad? We already have many poor minorities from Hartford here in Glastonbury living at the Village and it's a mess! Nothing but trouble. There's something like 100 units there so how many more do we need? The condo project is bad enough but now we have to start up another Village?

This is one stupid state. We never take advantage of any tourism opportunities because we're always too busy keeping developers rich. Been to Florida lately? Hundreds of mile of coastline ripped up for condos, condos and more condos. Take a lesson from another crapped up state. Enough with the condos, strip malls and "shops" already!

I'm all for Habitat for Humanity homes, IF the families who move into them show respect for the property and maintain it. Here in upstate NY (where I now live, due to a corporate transfer), we also have Habitat home construction, and sometimes the families who are given the houses
simply trash them and end up being evicted.

I hope Glastonbury has a better "screening process" of the applicants, otherwise you're going to have another Village on your hands.

I think there is some confusion here about how Habitat for Humanity works....Habitat families are not "given" a home. Families purchase their home and pay a monthly mortgage payment and taxes just like any other homeowner. The only difference is that the homeowner does not pay interest, which is why the home is affordable. Families are also required to put in sweat equity hours and attend education classes that cover topics such as budgeting and home maintenance.
The definition of eviction is "the removal of a tenant from a rental property by a landlord." So obviously you are incorrect in saying these individuals in New York were "evicted." You can't evict a homeowner, as a homeowner does not have a landlord. If the homeowner does not pay their mortgage, the bank can foreclose on their home.

“Affordable” today means the homes our teachers, firemen, service personal, nurses, and yes maybe even a Dr.??? Hmmm, do you want to wait ˝ hour before they get to us because they have to live where they can afford.
Unfortunately, that is how "affordable housing" is perceived. Right away it's a minority issue....shame on you...your helping with one of societies wrongs..hatred & creating fear of those less fortunate ...there are some white folk who are worse than most....look in the mirror..

Why are GLASTONBURY people so rude? They don't say "thank you" if you hold a door for them. They push and shove in front of you in stores and public places and never say "excuse me". They act like their shitt don't stink! Like they're royalty!

They are so spoiled and assholish! This town stinks of rudeness ans entitlement. They walk around with their snooty noses in the air thinking their farts smell nice and sweet.

*F* all of you Glastonbury shitts!

Have you ever gone into the Housing area where they have subsidized low-rent housing in Glastonbury? The place looks like the North end of Hartford and is loaded with drug dealers. It is also full of minorities and the police have to be there quite often. Good luck.

I have not had this experience in Glastonbury.

Did you read what you wrote? Maybe people would be nicer to you if you didn't present yourself like this.

If you grew up in Glastonbury and had to raise kids as an independent mother, you would be aiming for something cheaper. If we stay in the mindset that it's unacceptable to have cheap housing developments we might as well gate up the town.

You are idiots who probably never even visited Wells village or you would know the white boys and girls with their expensive cars are the ones looking for drugs maybe you should spend some time researching information before you go on your next uninformed rant. Probably your kids I see around here all the time wishing they were black or Spanish and now I know why with parents like you all filling their heads with false knowledge about local minorities. Good and bad comes in all shapes and colors but of course you only want to address the problems minorities bring not the majority whom drive around drunk shoot heroin white girls offering sex for drugs etc etc keep your kids out of the village.
