Family, police seek help finding missing Idaho City man

The Perfect place to commit a crime,Boise County.It seems to me that as people get on with their chili cook offs,and dig themselves out of a long hard winter,it seems forgotten that a person who loved Idaho City is still missing.Steve kalogerakos,a son,a brother,a uncle,and a friend not just some tough guy from the streets of Chicago,I wonder how much has been done to perserve evidence in his disapperance,Is there a killer among you,or do you think that he slipped and hit his head and was buried by the snow.What evidence is there does anyone even know.

hi christina i am the brother in law of steve believe me when i say that foul play is very much invoul my wife and i recieved a tip that the the girl friends father had got very upset with steve for putting his hands on her after aurguement between the both of them we recieved this information from a very close friend from her family in whish the father trick steve to meet the father some place unknown to us and thats when it happen but unfortunately we do not have any prove to back it up jesus.

I have known Steve for 14 years. I'm really sad to hear about Steve. He is the most unlikely person to just disappear. If there was foul play involved the police department in Idaho City is way to big of a joke to ever actually investigate it. I hope his sister keeps up the search...Who was his girlfriend? It takes a lot to get Steve mad so its hard to believe he put his hands on her. Winter is over and I really hope the "real" search starts. Good luck to the family, I wish I could help.

This is nothing new or uncommon in Boise county. The locals there pride themselves on having their own set of rules to live by. My ex-father-in-law is a "retired" cop and now resides in thr Grimes Creek area. He was full of stories about people that came up missing and that were now, "bear bait". Steve will likely turn up but the person that sent him missing will probably never come to justice. Good luck in your search.

Nope I have not. I want to stay as far away as I can. I have heard things about steve but as I say they are just rumors. But the latest one that I have heard is that steve was killed and his body was buried in a mine around Idaho City.

The way I have the story of steves last hours. Steve was saying some horrible stuff to some people and when he left he went to his ex-girlfriends house proceded to start beating the crap out of her.. there is now an intervention I have not put it together as to who intervened. but steve and ? leave steve goes home to his house. Goes to bed, gets up and is seen by several people headed to his ex's house again from what I have heard he never made it. now here is where the story kind of ends. and thats all I know. does anyone know any better explanation?

You can't believe everything you hear especially when people are not around to defend themselves like my brother Steve. Everyone including myself would say cruel things to people if intimidated by anyone. The lowlifes he was living with are not off the hook yet and don't worry I will get to the bottom of my brother's disappearance. Justice will come to the persons who had anything to do with covering it up as well. All good things come to those who wait.

You say that it is easy when people are not there to defent themselves but you need to tell the truth. Steve had a history of violence and threatining to kill people. He was hooked on drugs and was very much gone in the head. I know that he was you brother, but do not spread stories about people unless they are true. I do believe that Steve probably did hit her. He was a violent man and his past speaks for that.

you know what, you can say whatever you want,but I know steve very well and I"m saying steve did not use drugs,you are trying to Paint a picture here that is not true...Paula is up in idaho city painting a picture that is completley a lie.and when we find steve thats all gonna come out and the people that are responsile are going to prison,or maybe even the electric chair.Steve was in Idaho city with someone he thought were his friends and the only thing that he got was stabbed in the back and in this case much worse.what if he did hit her.Did he deserve to die for that.Why does she hide and lie?If if it were me I would have called the cops and had him arrested! I will be happy to burst your bubble. Steve did drugs because I was there when he did meth and pot. He also has a rap sheet as long as my arm. You seem to want people to think that he was a sweet and innocent person, but he has not. He was viollent and his police record can attest to that truth. He probably got caught up with some dealers so why don't you go searching their way. You seem to be after people that probably has nothing to do with him missing. You are quick to point the finger and need to look at others that knew Steve. Maby in Boise or even Nampa so get off your high horse.
