All you wanted to know about Parveen Babi

There was no schism between Parveen's fans and Zeenat's fans.I sometimes wonder if Zeenat who appears hard put the goose on Parveen. Parveen was light & delightful.She was the more elegant of the two. Zeenat was glamourous but Parveen was ELEGANT.I think the camera may have loved her more as well.You are not schizophrenic entering the world,so something happened to Parveen along the way. I remember an interview she gave wherein she said that when she and Kabir Bedi split she "felt the life draining from her limbs."The men around her were users and abusers.Example Mahesh Bhatt's film immediately about Parveen.Kabir Bedi's sons death from schizophrenia.When Parveen died Kabir Bedi wrote a two bit thing on BBC about him and her and their relationship.I thought they had a mythic love and then I got the shock of my life. Kabir Bedi was as cold as the dishcloth.He has always claimed she had problems before she was with him.What about his son did he have problems before? Bedi should now be a schizophrenic expert.
Parveen was very beautiful even as a schizophrenic allegedly that she was.There was something about her psyche that contained much more beauty than horror.Today's lot of actresses are an anaemic blurr. I cannot tell one from the other.Parveen stood out with her own style.She got wise that people were tampering with her psychologically and she split. God rest you Parveen. May the ground that covers you always be light.You will live in our hearts forever.

I can't believe what I've just read! Yes, Parveen was special in everyway, a real super-star. But there is no-way that you can depict Kabi Bedi as a bad guy in all this. Mahesh Butt for sure, he did exploit her, twice. His recent film is an example of that. But I think you'll find him calling it,'celebrating her!'.
Kabir and Parveen Babi had a relationship. They lived together very happily in Italy and London but in the end she chose to go back to India. A relationship ended, how did he use her??? How did he exploit her??, he hasn't made a film on her, published her diaries, her letters to him. He went on to marry and work took him away from India to the U.S and to Europe. You are seriously mis-informed.
And the comment about his son, was just below the belt.He committed suicide. You don't die of schizophrenia... you may just be unable to cope with it.

Parveen Babi was a Genius, I'm Shocked and digusted at Kabir Bed'S comments about Parveen. she was a human being and She didn't deserve those cold Comments.

I guess i was too young when she was in the movies but from the medical background I have I can definately say that she had a tough time coping with her illness. being a schizo is not easy. You have to constantly take ur medication and if u do so...ur stuck with the side effects. If you look at the statistics about 50% or more of the schizos don't take their medication cause it makes them feel worse, hence they end up on the psych. units...agreed they dont get the depression and the thoughts of suicide but they get nausea, vomiting, weakness,...etc. Who wants to feel crapy on a daily basis?
So in the end blaming 1 person for the her death is not going to work. If she were taking her medication on a timely basis she would not have not have to worry about those suicidal thoughts. This just proves that she wasn't! Being stressed by Kabir Bedi or Mahesh Bhatt....whoever it was....did not make her a schizophrenic or suicide....there are millions of people out there who have gone through tougher relationships...how about those who have been raped?....Schizophrenia is brought on by an unknown cause...there are theories relating it to genetic mutation and environmental factors...however, these are theories....you cannot point fingers at anyone saying that they're the reason that this woman turned this way. in that case, lets get all the other schizos out here and ask them to start pointing!...imagine all the law suits!
And truthfully, so what if Mahesh Bhatt made a movie on the story? He has the complete right to share his tragedy with the world! Makes you understand that what you have right now, is way better to what others are unlucky enough to loose. And if the "opposing" parties have a problem with the way he told the story, go ahead make your version...people definately be there to watch it!

Yes, some of us who were teens in the 70s will always remember parveen babi with affection. She was the best! A sensitive talent wasted in the jungles of bombay.

Imagine what would have happened if Parveen hadnt entered movies? What would have happened if she hasnt met Kabir Bedi(I believe the start of all her troubles, remorse).

I will tell you what would have happened. Parveen would have been happily married with 2 children.

But then there is some information that her mother was a money grubber, who pushed her to movies and who used to terrify her with stories of murders even when she was a child! Now that is such an apt explanation to all the missing facts!Her own mother.

I think she was really doomed. She had no chance despite all that beauty.

And yes she was very elegant! No hindi star can match that elegance.

perveen was a truely beautiful an amazing star..i only wish people were sinsitive enough to her illness n industry or people close to her tried to seek proper medicine care for her.
as for mahesh bhatt i think he didnt really exploit her..he made a movie based on his n her story..its just his side of the story,n i guess it helps us to understand what a schizo person is capable of thinking or imaginig and how hard n heart braking it is for a person close to 'em to se their loved one suffer n get distroied all before ur eyes..n there is nothing u can do to let them know that their fear is not real its a hallusination only.
i only hope that our people will learn something from the traggic end of parveen babi n we'll be more sensitive to the ppl with psychological illness so that stars like parveen or any person dont met the same ending.n they get the love care n medical treatment that they deserve.

It upset me that she died alone with no-one beside her.
