Palm Beach County: Two men shot outside strip club sue owner

Pretty stupid trying to rob someone AFTER they have been in a strip club - you know they have no money left. The criminal was obviously NOT white.

How is this the club owners fault? How about suing the 17 year olds mother or father. O- thats right, we probably don't know who daddy is. Here's an idea. Lets say the heir to the 17 year old thug will be awarded a lot of money in a settlement like the thug in Delray, then everyone would be knocking over eachother to say they are the daddy.
Total B.S. How can the club take responsibility for thugs that wander into their public parking lot & comit crimes.

The article in the Palm beach post was more informative. The men were in their fifties which blows me away, sounds like two dirt old men leering at young girls throwing their money away.....theres no fool like an old fool....Maybe someone saw them waving wads of money around and set them up? Ever think of that?

I dont think it was random thugs I think it was people in the club or connected to it.....Anyone foolish enough to go to some diry diseased crappy strip shit hole I feel no pity for.....this bar has other problems anyway they were raided and busted a month ago.....cops found used condoms....drugs...dancers being prostitutes selling sex and teens selling drugs.....nice place huh? at least they lost their liqour license.......the guys that filed the lawsuit wont get a dime this place is in the process of being closed down for good.....These guys were over fifty years old they should have know better than to walk into such a vile place....its not like they were some dumb foolish 19 and 20 year old who knows no better.....Bottom line there should be no lawsuit and the hole should be finally shut down......used condoms all over the place REALLY DISGUSTING!!

the gunman was white....its a white place but its a nasty place.....really dirty and the girls who work there look like hell. the two guys outta used better judgment....betcha the old guys wont be looking at girls no more.....they outta be lucky they alive..........

lets face it dancers would sell their mother for crack you dont think they would sell out those pathetic guys who go to these clubs> C"mon--Grow up they have no morals or dignity--I mean c'mon they strip for hundreds of guys a week--no class no morals dirty and dense--nope no loyatly and pride there!

if you all think the one in boyntons bad you aint never been to WPB now they are really skanky and dirty and the same thing goes on strippers selling sex and drugs and management does nothing....guess its not them getting diseases or arrested is it? just the poor slobs who go there or the bimbos who work there

Question back at you how did the club take responsiblity for the teenagers selling drugs in the parking lot? how because they knew and got kickbacks from it. No "thug" could be worse than the flotsom and jetsom {sewer and fecal matter} that work there.

I'll bet the two guys who were robbed and shot now wish they had gone to the VFW or a senior dance. What were they thinking? going to a strip bar at their age? They did not of course deserve to get shot but as you get older you get wiser, or at least I thought so not in this case.

An above poster thought it could be a inside job, that is entirely possible, a few years ago at a strip bar in Lake Worth Fl that exact thing happened, a patron had a lot of money, a dancer alerted her boyfriend and he came and along with the bouncer almost beat this man to death, a detective I know worked on the case, the man almost died and the dancer, boyfriend and bouncer were arrested, I am not saying this is how it happened at Platinum only the coicidences are very similar, imagine setting up your customers? only in a strip club would this happen, people who work there I doubt have many morals or standards or loyalties, or it could have been random it could go either way I imagine.

My point is I am sorry the men got shot and I am glad they recovered but certainly they should know better to go to a place like that at thier ages, pehaps this should be a lesson to young men in thier teens and twenties, noone wants to be beaten, shot, robbed, infected with a disease, or arrested. Sometimes when the old men make mistakes the young ones see and try to correct them. I just wonder with all the trouble this club has had, this shooting and the raid and closing last month how they still can remain open if business is so very bad, it cannot last long I imagine. Its a hard lesson to be learned by men.

I rather doubt there was any kind of security in a strip parking lot, especially given the fact that teenagers were selling drugs in the parking lot for the management, I would imagine they would like to keep it nice and dark. Its hard to feel very sorry for these two old geezers that went to look at a bunch of young floozies. I feel more sorry for the young mother and child who died in a horrible car accident and other terrible things that happen to people. Then a lawsuit is needed. The men will probably win, lets look on the bright side if they do win the scummy bar will go bankrupt and close down and drugs and disease will probably drastically decrease in Boynton Beach, I hope the parents of the teenager sue the bar too for letting the young kids sell drugs, I am not for the lawsuit but perhaps it will be the beginning of this bars END!!

The club is private property just like your home. If someone is selling drugs on your front lawn or out of your living room you have a responsibility to stop it. Or do you call their daddy?

Hey looks like a lot of judgmental people commenting on these poor dudes who really arent't all that old and were out to have fun which is perfectly legal. Sounds like lotsa' rule bounders trying to throw stuff which tells me maybe their pretty much fresh from diapers and should clean up their own mess b4 throwing mess at others.

I was not trying to be judgemental. Lets give these men the benefit of the doubt they did not know this place was notorious for drug dealing and prostitution and crime. I am sorry they were shot and robbed and glad they are recovering, I was just commenting at their age perhaps they should of been a bit wiser about the company they keep. I dont know how much "fun" they had as you said smart dude almost dying is not fun but I am quite certain they will never go within 50 yards of a strip club again. This is really not an isolated incident things like this happen at strip clubs all the time, I was just commenting these men, being mature, perhaps should have know better than lets say a 20 year old.

I am sure their lawsuit will be successful especially given the fact regarding that the place was raided for drugs and prostitution, I am hoping they win, as many citizens of Boynton perhaps then going bankrupt we will be rid their kind at last. I am not trying to be a "rule bounder" as you said I just do not like drug dealing, prostitution and children selling drugs in a dark parking lot, and it seems many agree with me. Boynton really does not need this criminal eyesore any longer.

Insightful blog Raven. If I may add one thing to what you have said. These men did not deserve to get shot but I firmly believe if they had been in a dept store, nice restaurant, or sporting event it most likely would not have happened. The element in these places is very low and sleazy, the employee's have no respect for its customers and less regard for their safety. If this were an inside job like the one in Lake worth a few years back it pretty shows the element, how could you do this to someone who has just spent a great deal of money in your business? And yet again it could be random, I doubt we will ever know the truth as I said people employed in these places the truth is very foreign to them. Yes I hope the men's injuries are healed and glad they did not die, this should be a lesson to all men STAY OUT OF STRIP CLUBS! They are dangerous to your health for so many many reasons. Lesson learned.

Not everyone learns lessons Bun, some are learned the hard way. Hopefully noone will ever have to endure this again. You have to consider the element bad sleazy people work in these places and thats that. Hopefully none of our guys get infected arrested or shot but as long as these places operate my optimism is not strong.

heres a clincher for ya'll strip clubs wanna now give flu shots to senior citizens over 65!!! WTF!!! the young dudes have been scared away now they are going after oldtimers.........no old guy is gonna do this unless he has dementia or alzhiemers..

OMG tell me this is not true. Flu shots in a topless dive? the only kind of shots that should be given in a dives like these are penicillian shots to ward off the VD in these holes. The mayor and the health dept going to allow this? Believe me only a complete damn fool or a total scuzzbucket would allow a needle in thier arms in these places. I think the above posters are right business is real bad and with all the media coverage concerning the filth drugs disease and crime in these places what better way to make some money, ripp off the old guys they have been doing it for years to the young ones and the young ones finally got smart. People basically are afraid of aids and no a sould going get a shot in those places. I hope the old people stay away they got enough health problems.
