Boca teen killed in one-car crash on Lyons Road

the news came out with the truth, but sadly to say she was drunk, and had a fake ID, they were not babysititng for all those of her friends who decided to lie. she was at a bar near the town center mall on college night, which is a great night for teens. she was NOT legal to drink and def. had a fake id to get in. the friend was also totally plastered, as they both were. it is very unfortunate and sad. but the money and cars dont have to do with the story. however, these people are saying, dont hand keys and money and everything else to your children soooo easy and this wont happen. it does not matter that she was going to U of M or staying home in the fall. it is terrible. the teachers also warned them about their behavior and told them this could happen. they did not think it would and it did!!! she did no drugs that night, just totally plastered. the friend just came off a punishment of dui and was back out on the scene. her parents were aware of the drinking too. this was all stated in a later article..........

yes, i heard that too. the fake id was her older sisters which makes it even worse. the parents are not to blame per say but hopefully they will learn the hard way. it is still very sad and i am sure her friends are still out partying. sad to say. that is what teens do. it is terrible to bury a child. so you have to feel badly for her parents at the same time. the bar is called DUFFY's. NOT babysitting. sorry to say.

West Boca IS a hot spot for crashes because it is located near two universities where drinking is prevalent among the young people. I used to a live a couple blocks from the most dangerous intersection in the nation (Pines and Flamingo) and not once do I remember an underaged DUI crash, let alone in the middle of the night.
BTW, on a totally different note, Boca is filled with spoiled kids compared to the rest of the tri-county area, but drunk driving accidents don't take into account whether your rich or not. You would think that the Volvo would have saved her life, but thats the fault of the manufacturers safety mechanisms and advertised safety awards.

It's sad to see people saying she was drunk,there is no proof she was drunk,there was no report published that she was drunk,a young girl has lost her life here,thats what we should be focusing on,I feel for her parents,may she rest in peace

The comments I read make me sad.. I do not know this girl or her family but the loss hurts me.. It does not really matter how she died, she died that is what matters.. All of you that are so judgemental, you have never done wrong?? I am 43 years old and at 18 did alot of stupid things, somehow by the grace of God I am alive.. I know most of you reading this have done similar things.. I have 2 daughters and God for bid anything ever happens to them.. I think it is time to stop be judgemental and start being humans!!!! Rest in peace Emily.. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.. I hope the people reading this never go thru what you our your family have gone thru.. GOD BLESS

I agree it is sad that she lost her life but it was because she was drinking. A friend of mine is best friends with the girl that lived and they were out drinking at Duffy's that night. She was using her sisters id who is over 21 and out of the country.

And no one reading this has ever used someones ID to get into a bar.. She was drinking, she did use a false ID, she did things that most of us have done, she just happened to get killed doing it.. When you are a teenager you don't think, you just do.. Please don't judge...

I wasnt judging. I was just stating the facts. A lot of the comments say she wasnt drinking and I was just saying she was. I agree 100% that we do stupid things as teenagers and even adults. I think it is horrible we lost a girl who had a bright future ahead of her...she was going to be going to UM in the fall.

It has now been several months since Emily's death. My family is close with the Levine family, and I have watched them go through a living hell. I pass no judgement on any comment on this site, but I pray my very hardest that none of you ever come close to experiencing a fraction of what Emily's family has gone through.

Every Halloween I think of Emily because when I was in 5th grade, I shared my first kiss with her. I hadn't spoken to her since middle school really, and I regret that. I remember going to her high-school's graduation and hearing her name called, and thinking to myself "Wow, Emily Levine, I haven't heard that name in such a long time." A couple weeks later I read this in the paper. Its pretty heartbreaking. I hope the family is doing well.
