I never took the PAX-RN & passed my boards with no problem! If you are already an LPN you are not required to take the PAX
But you would have had to take a test very similar to the pax test to get into the lpn program I also know who this post is about and I dont think it would be fair just to let her in because she has some faculty support. The test isnt that hard, if she cant pass the test she wont be able to pass the program.

if they don't have enough ppl that make the score, they do go below a 100 to fill the seats. And this year I know for a fact that there were people that got in without making the score in one of the programs.

What a fine nurse you will make someday--calling people who don't pass a test a dumbass and saying that they should kill themselves.

I know one student who is posting on her facebook page that she wants to punch someone in the face. I know she has a job at some hospital working part time. I also know she is a poor excuse for caregiver and would not trust her with someone I care for. She will be graduating this spring. Check out your program dear directors and fellow students. It seems anyone can be a nurse and have no morals, or valid basis for the true field. I hope she and anyone else who has a alter motive flunks and never can be over another persons health again. A phone call may just give some light on the situation.

A nurse doesn't really need morals to do the job,but these attributes will help: 1. A strong back. Ability to move two to three hurdred pounds with minimal or no assistance. And be ready for a complaint about being too rough when moving momma's 400 pound self.
2. Stomach of lead. Ability to hold back a gag is REALLY important. Puke, pee, and poop ... those are the easy ones.
3. Marathon capable. Walking, running, lifting, bending and stooping for 13 hours a shift. Don't even think about sitting down, even for lunch.
4. Thick skin. Ability to take abuse from patients, families and hospital staff including doctors and other nurses is imperative. And smile the entire time!
5. Prioritize. Hahahaha! That's what your supervisory will say, but no matter. There will always be more to do than you can get done.
6. 2 gallon bladder. Time to pee? It will be the only time you get to sit in peace. And someone will call you mid stream.
7. Frugality. Do more with less. And less. And less.

Advice. Go into another field. Nursing sucks.

I went to ANC, too. I feel my degree was well earned. The program was tough back in the days of Ms. Fulling. Regardless, no amount of training can fully prepare a nurse for the ever-changing array of expectations in today's medical field. In the hospital world, every time there is a problem, it's nursing that has to add another piece of paper to solve the problem. Just think about it. With the exception of nursing is any department (xray, lab, PT, etc.) expected to write down everything they do? It has become totally rediculous! No time is left for actual patient care. Most nurses in administration have not touched a patient in many years. They have no idea. But keep smiling! That is also an expectation.

I have been an RN for 6 years and I see good and bad. Some paitents will push your buttons. It is part of the job. If you think all nurses are wholesome and true caregivers, you have another thing coming. I have seen alot of dirty things and hate the bad in it all. I love being a nurse. It is hard work. If it is the field you wish to pursue, remember who you are doing it for. The person you have to treat as your own in order to uphold the oath you recite. If that is not the reason, don't pursue the career.

If you don't pass the pax, you sure as hell won't pass the program. Good luck trying, and please do not be my nurse when I need one. Thank you!

I would also like to say (and I'll get blasted for this), but nurses are not my damn waiter. They are there to help me when I need it, not when I want a refill. Do not treat them as such. If you do, then leave a damn tip!!! 20% of the tab is the norm these days.

No, this person did not get in directly. This person went into the LPN program and will not have to take the PAX-RN. This person will transition into the RN program in that way. Smart thinking.

Is ANC very unorganized? I went there to register and it seemed like it. I've heard alot of negative things about Mrs Williams in the nursing dept. Can someone tell me about the nursing program that has actually been through it? I'm getting really nervous the closer it gets and the more I hear about the program. How hard is it? Do the instructors really help you? and how are clinicals? do you do them in blytheville hospital or where?
I'm second year. Mrs Williams is an asset to the program. She's great. As far as the program goes, you'll work harder than you ever have but you'll probably have more fun too. We have a blast at clinicals and most of the time in class as well. ANC has it's issues but all-in-all, I'll be proud to be considered an alumni.

There is a nursing student who is posting violent acts on her facebook page. She is in the RN program this year and she will cut you in the back. I wouldn't trust her to take care of my barbie doll. I will not name names on here. I hope she is kicked out, flunks out, or drops out. She works part time at some hospital and I wouldn't want my family member around her. I do have a loved one in a place in Mo and all I know is she better not go to work there or do clinicals there. The shit will hit the fan. Just letting other students to watch your back, and the people you are taking care of.

If you would have read earlier post, you would know what acts. She has posted on her Facebook " Ever want to just punch someone in the face"I have no clue if it was a sick person during clinicals, a kid she works with at her part time job, or an elderly person. That is why no name is posted. I DO KNOW she goes behind others back and snoops on them to try and get one up . I DO KNOW she has no concern about others feelings when it has no concern in her agenda. I DO KNOW she will screw anyone over to make herself seem smartewr than them. She is a fake, a phony and nursing is one choice she doesn't need. I DO KNOW I would watch my back if I were working with her. She is in the RN program now and should graduate in May. I hope she doesn't because it takes a caring, nurturing and loving person to do that job. She loves no one but herself and only acts the part for all others. Figure it out for yourself. Know a girl with an attitude most of the time, never gives a compliment. Always sarcastic and brags on knowing how to raise a kid the right way. That will be her. Her size is pretty hefty too. So there you go.
