I am so glad that the dollar store is looking good. Just wait when all of the people living around there need toilet paper "in a hurry" they will be soooooooooooooooooooooo glad that that store is there...U know sometimes u just really need that item in a HURRY....hahaha....yes, alot of GD are held up but look at all of the other stores robbed also. Look how many many banks r robbed.....hahaha.....there was plenty of crime and I mean "plenty of crime" in Bly. area and this GD will not start the crime up. Crime has been there for yrs. and I doubt kif it will ever stop. Remember the lady in the Kroger's parking lot at 1pm on a Sun. after church that got robbed?? That wasn't at GD at all.Remember all of the shop lifting at Kroger??? It happens everywhere ...not just the GD stores.... Oh well, happy shopping everyone...

Seems a shame that the neighbors did not offer to buy this property during the five years that it was for sale and zoned commercial. What they were expecting is not any different than waiting until they put their homes up for sale and then telling them that they can only sell to elderly people, with no children, automobiles or pets. They basically were telling the prior owners that although they had owned commercial property for many years, they could not sell the property. You tell anyone of them that we get to pick what they do with their property and they would be at the lawyers quicker than they were this time.

We have had some of our dollar stores robbed in the area where I live but it is just not GD, it is all of these types of small stores. In the news here, they say the reason they r easy to rob is because the "money" is right inside the door (where u ck. out) very easy to run in and rob it and easy then to get out fast. I have never heard of anyone being shot or killed in one but I wouldn't know except for in the area where I live.

If Well or Read will read the Jonesboro Sun, they will find that the store manager and police feel that the attempted holdup was by kids using a toy gun. I think we should outlaw kids and toy guns.

Not Yet wrote: <quoted text> They feel the same way about beer cans, ex-spouses and smart mouthed " neighbors" I am appearing before the city council to demand valet parking at all the dollar stores in Blytheville. If they can't afford to valet park then they won't patronize the little dollar stores. If they don't shop there they will have to close. Very good solution in my opinion and will not cost us another dollar to rid our part of town of the commoners!

You people can drag this out till Christ comes home. Why can you not get a long? People rob and shoot etc. crime is crime. The thugs go to where money is for drugs or what ever they are out for. Evil is what they are. It does not matter where or what store it is. Did you not remember when St.Paul's Methodist Church in Jonesboro was robbed and the Admin. Assistant was stabbed almost to death over some thug wanting Gas money? Churches are robbed even when services are going on. It does not matter where or when this is going on. This store looks a lot better than what was there. If the management does what is right and police the area for trash etc. then it will stay that way. Blytheville looks a lot better with this there than what was there and some of us that live near will use it. If you people remember that a lot of areas use to have neighborhood stores around them. What was can be again. Work with the city people and make this place a place for others to come and live and maker our city better. I mean city as families having a good safe place to live. All this hate on here is just what it is hate. Can WE get a long? You can if you try.

For Mr. Logan, he has pine trees that hid his home. Build a high fence and stay in. You would think that anyone that sales homes in this town would be for all people not just himself and his buddies. Every area of this city needs to look like this new store. Landscape and clean up the other areas of the city. All of us need to work on this town from the Park to Main Street with the weeds growing on sidewalks and curbs. We let old neighborhoods fall down and then go out to farm land and start more neighborhoods. Pretty soon there will be NO farm land near town. Start at Walnut and go north and south. Do what Memphis did 20 years ago and they turned falling down areas in Midtown Memphis to one of the most beautiful part of Memphis. We can do that too if we work together and it also brings property amounts back up. Some small homes could be used for small families at a price that they could afford and not $200,000.00 etc price homes that they can not afford. WE ALL need to work on this. Stop fighting about what is right or wrong and work together as a city. Stop taking and start giving back to your home town. Stop putting it down and build it up. Then we will be back as we were. Think
