TASERS HAVE GOT TO BE OUTLAWED
COP THINK THEY CAN USE THIS FASTER THAN A GUN - SO MANY PEOPLE DIE FROM THIS ACTION - THIS IS BARBARIC TO SAY THE LEAST
I AM VERY MUCH AGAINST A TASER

One I doubt you have any stats to back up your claim. Second although there have been some deaths from tasers there are more than likely more lives that have been saved on both sides of the law due to them. Cops have to be tasered during training to even use it.
Very clueless post.

she was having a heart attack and he was just helping. WTF, do what an officer says and then blog about it after ... most of the time they are wrong but we have given them a blank check to do what they want. Most of or police do the right thing.

Hey! The officer felt threatened because this skinny 72 year old lady exited her car. A woman half his size, she might've put her dukes up, and hammered him. And everyone knows he had to establish dominance; after all, her hearing was probably half gone. And let's face it, there's the thrill of watching some little old lady crumble at his feet. So he weighed his options, determined the course of least effort, and zapped her. Lucky for her she didn't have a heart condition or those involuntary muscles contractions might of done her in.(But the tazer which causes that is in no way responsible for the deaths of heart patients.)

Most cops I've been stopped by have a serious attitude problem. These are the sissy guys we used to beat up in Jr High but who now have a badge and gun and are getting even with us. All cops have basic hand to hand combat training and I can't believe this old lady couldn't have been taken down with some of their training techniques. I can understand a huge black dude climbing out of his vehicle maybe getting a rethink of the hand to hand stuff, but an old lady? Get real!

Yup, Old Timer, I couldn't agree with you more -- and I was being sarcastic. But think how that officer wrote up his report. Probably omitted the height, weight and age of the lady, and made her sound like a real menace.

Pigs are pigs wherever you go, there are god and bad, but lots of bad. I hate that the pricks get off so easily, but will chase you down with the might of the entire legal system if you only seem to be guilty. The only good pig is a misunderstanding, scratch the surface and find the truth.

This was an unnecessary use of force and a very poor judgement call. I wish this woman did have a heart condition and this frigging bully was tried for manslaughter. Although her actions were not cooperative, they were not threatening. This is a gross violation of her human rights, over a damn traffic ticket no less!! Just because you have a badge does not mean that you arent responsible for your actions. If I were her I would look for an ACLU lawyer willing to push for assault charges.

She was being a bit nasty, so OK if he decides to arrest her. He requested backup, he could have waited, not like she was going after him, but he kept pushing her buttons when he knew she was upset. And she needed to be out of her car to be arrested. She repeated her age many times, so he knew she was a small 72yr woman (maybe with a pacemaker, maybe not), and decides to taser her when she made no attempt to harm him, just a refusal to stand where he wanted while backup was on the way. Let's taser the meek elderly in nursing homes who won't take their meds too. Wonder how many heart attacks we can cause. He is so lucky he didn't need to call an ambulance.

I think this shows how close we are coming to a Police State. In a Police State life is not worth much. We are used to being treated like human beings. We'd better get over it. Lucky her sons and grandsons weren't with her in the car or they might have gotten killed. This guy was a taser instructor. He ordered her out of the car, she complied. She said she would sign the paper. Why did he taser her? Why did the newscasters nod their heads and say that that was ok behavior? It's like he set it up on purpose. "I'm going to let the public know who's the boss! Let the public be on notice that the police are now in charge. The times they are a changing. No more Mr nice guy policeman.

Regardless of everything that went down, if she had just signed the ticket when she was originally told instead of being a bratty old hag, she would have avoided the whole situation.

I dont feel sorry for her because she's an old lady. Think about the other ways he could have delt with her with ALOT worse results.
