My heart goes out to the family. I'm so sorry for the lost.
Dr. Redd delivered both of my kids, for that I am very thankful. He was a nice guy. Never knew this side of him.

First, my sympathy to the family...

But I have to admit, my first thought was, this sounds just like a Tony Hillerman mystery novel...

Years ago, I say the damage done by back hoes to the ruins in Beef Basin. The locals that did it just got a slap on their wrist.
As much as I distrust the feds, I am glad that they are doing their job in this case.
Now that the economy is in the toliet, I bet this will become a bigger problem.

"General Custer"? Your social and political analysis is right up there for brilliance with Custer's military strategy as an indian-fighter. I hope it leads you to a similar end.

And BTW numb-nuts, it's spelled "Pharoahs", and they were buried in "pyramids". Some of them anyway. Maybe if you read the Bible, you would know that.

You've been to the Dept. of Interior? I've been to West Texas...last time I was there, there was still plenty of empty space for all your oilfield trash that have ruined the Four Corners to go back home.

Well, lets all go dig up your relative's graves and post their cracker jack jewelry on Ebay. How would you like that? Since all them old bones are taking up valuable space.

Hey George Armstrong Custer, Here's a pie in your face *smack*. Now we injuns don't like to be called injuns. We prefer Native American or we can go by our traditional tribal name. I am Navajo and would be happy to meet personally with you in a neutral public place and discuss this with in depth. However, I suspect you are too chicken too. I can be intimadating, but I will not because that is not my way. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Native guy, not injun.

General Custer, It is quite clear to all who blog here that you were denied a basic education. Perhaps you should request admission to an elementary school in let's say...Montezuma Creek. You will learn about cultures that long ago inhabited the ground you stand on. I'm afraid it may be too much for you to bear.

Even if I live here for the next 40 years I wouldn't have the depth of knowledge that Hillerman had about this area... It's hard to believe that there won't be anymore books coming out....

At least before he left us he got Jim Chee properly married off!

And you other guys knock off the skinwalker talk.. you're giving me the creeps... This is one story where I would believe it's them...

I know...it's sad to think about no more books.

Just don't steal from American Indian graves and don't go outside and whistle at night! lol

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
