Blfd. City Youth Football

I just heard today was the last day to sign up for the low cost of $25.00 fee, we missed it. My question is this Who are the coaches and who will Bluefield City play cause I hear we can not play in the same league as last year. I have called down the recreation building all week but was not able to speak with anyone who knew anything. Really glad to here the smurfs are back though.

I don't believe bluefield has enuf kids to field a team. Poor planning.

I'm not letting my child play for the insane coach I heard screaming at those little kids last fall....

Was he white or black? My son practiced there last year. BTW, it is football not cheerleading. Just because they scream does not make them a bad coach.

I played football...had 2 brothers that played football...my uncle coached Defensive line at the college level for 35 years....I was never screamed and yelled at like that...I was "taught" how to play the game. Football is about tough love and making kids grow into responsible men. Those guys were just yelling to be yelling...it doesn't make a kid "tough" to be screamed at by a 40 year old overweight man...I would never let my kids play for those jokers.

The whole program has failed. What happened?

sounds like you know them more than just drivingby. Andit sounds personal....The wild cats practice there and as a parent I have no complaints.

I played football 2nd grade through high school and I can't think of a coach that didn't yell. No one likes authority figures anymore.

I think you are so full of sh!t your eyes must be brown. Looking at all of your comments on various topics, you just like to stir sh!t because no one can figure out who you are. We are having a smurf team. I, my father, and my brother in law will be the coaches for the smurfs. We have 18 signed up as of right now. We need about 5 more players to really have enough kids, but we could make due with 20 total. I coached the marlins t-ball this last yr in wv. We won the championship in wv then went to a tournament in bluefield va and won it all there as well. I am a very good coach and all of my parents loved me in t-ball. In fact about 5 of my t-ball players signed up for football just because I am coaching. I do take it serious, the kids are there to learn the right way, but I am very fair and I try to make it fun for the kids. We take them out for pizza and icecream on multiple occasions. We want the kids to enjoy it. I won 3 state championships in high school football, was all state, and played at fairmont st. In college. Needless to say I know a lot about football and how to win. I really think we will have a good team this yr if we can get a few more players to sign up. If any of you have not signed up or know someone that hasn't, please have them sign up this week. Practice starts Monday July 30th. We have a meeting one day this week and I will contact all of you when I know more. Please do not take your kids to the va league, No disrespect to anyone else but I assure you that your child will not get better coaching than what he will get from me. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask.

We will be playing with McDowell county and a few others. Should have about 8 teams total

One last thing. If you call over to the office, the woman there is not aware of what is going on so please don't get frustrated. Tony Webster is taking over the football program, from what I've heard he should get things under control quickly. He has been gone out of town this past week, but should be in this week. We should have more info available by the middle of the week and I will contact you as soon as I get the team roster. Practice will begin next Monday probably at 6.

Hey coach glad to hear you will be coaching the football team. My son played for one of the other tball teams this past year. I have to say you were much more organized and thorough than any of the other coaches in the league. I was hesitant to let my 6 year old play football this year, but I feel much better knowing you will be the coach.

If Webster is over it then I am sure his team will be stacked to the limit. He does that every year. YOu see one all black team and one white with mixed kids and only a few blacks SAD. I heard that is why Bluefield got put out of the league they were in last year. No sense in always stacking teams. My kids going to Bluefield VA again this year. Good Luck Bluefield City.

Sarver is back. Webster is coaching the midget team, but there's only one midget team so he won't be stacking one team and making the other crappy. Webster wins because he knows football and most youth coaches don't have a clue.
