They are together. It is not a Walmart Supercenter. It will be like the new one in Jasper with a Kroger across the way or next to it.

Since: Apr 11

How do you know this to be true? Searched on Google and found info in 2005 about this. Nothing lately.

I think the land owner is a Tipton. Ask him.

I talked to someone very close to the situation. Kroger is not coming. Never was part of the deal. Walmart is in the preliminary stages of settling on the location next to Home Depot. If all goes well then perhaps within a month the will have signed the contract. And it is going to be a Super Walmart just like Ellijay and Jasper.

It may be so,
For all I know,
It all sounds rather queer,
I really hate to doubt your word,
That Super Walmart is coming here!

Hope I am wrong and you are right but I have heard that same song before many times over the years. Kind of like the promise to widen SR #5! I won't hold my breath!

I hope you are right and I am wrong. I prefer a Super Walmart as opposed to a regular Walmart and a Kroger. Another person today said they heard from a bank president at UCB that Kroger may have cancelled also and it is just Walmart.

I'd take a Target over a Wal Mart any day of the week. Heck, I would take a K-Mart over a Wal Mart.

I have heard the Kroger deal fell through, and I want believe anything until the building is finished. I've been hearing a Wal Mart is coming since I was 10. I would say I'd rather it not as it would be an eyesore, but it's no worse than the Home Depot.

I heard the Kroger deal fell through next to Ingles and that green shopping center owned by some guy from Atlanta I think? on 515 but they were moving forward with the Home Depot piece. I wish we could get some facts from local officials because some jobs would be nice.

Agreed. There are too many Walmart stores; we need a Target.

I have lived here my whole life and personally I would love to see a wal-mart come in reason 1 being more jobs and reason 2 no more driving 45 min to get to one and i also think it would be a boost for local economy
