the article talks about the boon for the business owners and the city , but I see nothing about how it affects the people who live in this area. first the companies will be given a tax abatement for ten years which will raise your taxes the companies will want more the city/county will give it to them at your expense. you will have to deal with traffic noise 24 hours a day and then to top it all off,the goverment will come and take your property thru emmint domain, give you a third of its valve and kick you to the curb, this is just like the elevated rail its going to cost more and the one thing they don't tell you is its going to make the area suck. all due to the increased noise and stu ff falling off train cars/trucks, etc. keep your eyes on this one citizens of olathe.

Just a little FYI people Lone Elm I-35 interchange is scheduled to start next summer! There is still no word on to the exact projected rout of the K-7 highway expansion from Leavenworth to Spring Hill. Yes it is planned for a future project possible not until 2012. There is lots of talk on the funding for this. They are still doing the enviornmental impact study and tring to figure out the path of K-7 from Lone Elm to Spring Hill.
Yes there was only one area purchased so far for the interchange because if the current design doesn't impact buisness or homes at this time. Let me tell you the land that was purchased the home owner came out smelling like a rose! As far as 159th St going over I-35 I don't see how this will work because it runs to the south side of I-35 off of Lone Elm Rd and connects with US-169! The Lone Elm interchance is designed to take traffic off of the side streets. |

here is a update on this, the traffic will run down lone elm and then go east on 183 th to 169, where property has already benn purchased, and no this land owner did not make out, after that don't know where it is going.
