just no enforcement, danny dunn does not care if the town if full of drugs, i think he is just too lazy to put any effort in to trying to find drugs

their not busting drug dealers because the cops are too busy having sex in their cars!and danny dunn is to worthless to know whats going on!

There are drugs in and around Willow. In fact, every town has drugs! Please name me one town you know of that has completely rid its town of drugs? If it wasn't such a challenge, our Country would not be in a war against drugs. That said, the WSPD cannot do anything about drug activity outside of the city limits. There are also a lot of things going on and taking place that others are not aware of. Believe me, the WSPD and the Drug Task Force know there is stuff going on. Often times one must be patient to gather more evidence and/or get bigger arrests. I do know that Dunn has pushed a great deal of the drug activity outside of the city limits since he's been in office.
If you have a solution or evidence, why not take it to the Police Department??? |

yeah. (most) of the cops here dont take their jobs too seriously. they (some) went to school with the 'bad guys' so they go a bit easy on them.

If people knew the truth about some things they would be dumbfounded, appalled, and pissed off.
Ignorance is bliss. |

Why don't you enlighten us? |

I posted this on the West Plains forum but I think it bears repeating in this thread. In a town where I once lived, a particular neighborhood became infested with drug dealers. The decent people who still lived there took matters into their own hands. With the help of a local sponsor, they had signs (the kind politicians use) printed that said - Drugs NOT sold here! Each homeowner or renter who participated in the program agreed to allow the local PD to do a walk through of their homes with their drug dog. They then planted their signs in front of their houses. Pretty soon, it was fairly obvious which homes were the drug houses. The dealers soon packed their bags (or baggies) and moved on.
It took almost a year to clean up the neighborhood but it was very effective. Sometimes you simply have to take matters into your own hands. |

shop girl-- thats a good idea but would never work in willow springs, the cops here are to lazy and to busy having affairs to mess with actually doing police work. Dunn hasnt pushed the drug dealers/users out of city limits, although thats what he likes to make everyone believe. Our police are a joke and they are scared of their own shadows, they would never fight REAL crime!

1 I would like to see you be a police officer for one day. They put up with a lot of stupid shit from people...makes it nearly impossible to get to anything else when they have to go out to that nasty tailor park 20 times a day because low life trashy people doing stupid shit. I guesss you just don't realize all the good they do. They can't possibly fix every problem, like drugs, they are humans...not miracle workers. Unless you have an idea as to how they could go about it better...I'm sure they would love the help...oh, and enough with the innapropriate comments, I'm sure that what happens with that particular person is none of your business, you are just trying to stir the pot. |

the funny thing is that the "nasty trailer park" mangr is the sergent of the willow springs police. so that just shows what kind of police we have.

1 Scared? Never fight a real crime? I remember a few years back when Chief Dunn and was involved in a car chase with a couple of escapees who were in prison for capital murder. While in pursuit Dunn was shot at with a fully-automatic weapon. Did he back down? No, the two were captured. Our cops may not face the crime on a daily basis like those in Detroit, Memphis, or St. Louis, but they still put their lives on the line for our community. There are many more stories that go untold because the cops here are not for personal glory. They are serving the citizens of WS. It is impossible to please everybody and they are not going to even try. |

1 What's "funny" is that he has been a police officer for well over a decade before he took that trailor park position. He has been a police chief for several years and is content with being a sargeant. Willow is very fortunate to have somebody of his caliber. In case you haven't noticed, WS is not some major metropolis paying high wages. You should feel very fortunate that somebody with his training and experience will take less money to work for the WSPD. He has worked for larger police departments (Branson) but has chosen to stay in a smaller community. |

i know dunn well and i pretty sure that he was not shot. maybe u herd bout the time they had the stabbing at 3rd street trailer park? ya he was so excited that he could not get out of the patrol car. so he just turned the siren back on thinking that every one would stop fighting. and where was he shot? cuz he NEVER wears his bullit proof vest. that is a cit ord. and the patrol car never got hit. so u no that he was not hit cant get out of the car fast enough
ya he also got FIRED as police chief and FIRED from branson. willow was his last resourt. dunn got him here cuz they r family.
If you could read you would have read that Dunn was shot "at." Read what you want to read. Leave out what you want to leave out. Whatever serves your agenda best. |
my bad i didnt see "at" cuz i no that he or his patrol car was not hit. and did he foot pursuit after them when they piled up in the ditch? think not cuz the only "foot pursuit" that most cops do is in the patrol car. i would say that all the cops r that way. but they r not i no just about all of them. brandon whittington, and reserve officer matt foster has been in foot pursuits before.
Let's not assume that because all cops have not been in a foot pursuit that means they are chicken. In a town of Willow's size, each officer does not get to experience every type of crime or action.
