I know a land owner near the new hotels on the loop, and contractors that buy and build for IHOP have contacted him. They are looking at securing property for a spring ground breaking and late summer 2010 opening. They want northeast loop area. All you can eat pancakes, here we come.

Sorry,
Per IHOP site requirements on their web site:
Population: 80,000 - 150,000 within 5 miles.
Traffic Count: Greater than 28,000 average daily.
Freeway Traffic Count: Greater than 60,000 average daily.

In addition to population requirements above must also have a retail, hospital, office population of 10,000 within 2 miles.

Since Paris can't touch most of these numbers we will probably have to settle for a Waffle House.

I don't know if you are referring to the poster who said we are getting an IHOP, or to the one who listed the requirements for cities with IHOP restaurants. If you go to the IHOP.com site, you will see that the poster's information and numbers are right. Sorry to those hoping for IHOP in Paris!

I'm not doubting what the you or the web site says, but there is an IHOP in Sherman and there's not 80,000 people in Sherman, even if you included Denison.

Also, the requirements are guidelines that can be changed. Look at Chilis and Applebees guidelines. We don't meet them either, but have enjoyed them for years.

What you are quoteing is for IHOP to bring in a corp. owned IHOP. To have a franchise IHOP the only requirement is 1.5 Mill. with 1/2 mil. liquid assets.Who in Paris has that. I know a few. So I would not be surprise if IHOPs pops up.

Paris can't hold an IHOP come on. Where are the Wendy's? There is no Waffle House even or a Target. Come on, Paris is not desirable to anyone other than redneck white trash.

Daily Horoscope for December 25

Aries

You've got a taste for adventure today, so you might decide to depart from tradition in some way and make it an unusual Christmas. You're certainly all set for a great time, and you'll want everyone else to enjoy themselves as much as possible. You'll probably eat and drink too much but, hey, it's Christmas! Isn't such excess par for the course?
