Call your reps and all others in support of HB 40 we have to start somewhere to get our rights back. One problem is the criminals live better in jail than most law abiding people. We need the days of bread and water back maybe than they will think about it. They gave up their rights when they committed the crime.

JUST ONE QUESTION HERE.why is it when more guns show up to stop someone that had killed somebody with a gun, that the point that more guns showed up to do good never comes up just that someone comitted a crime with a gun.Gov ernment want us to depend on them for protection they want all power and the only way is when we stop thinking for ourselves.

What about all the innocent people stuck in jail ? The Terrorists don't care if they die. The death penalty is the toughest of all punishments. Even McVeigh volunteered for it. There are enough laws now that make criminals out of all of us. HB 40 refers to a Pennsylvania proposal (for Castle Doctrine). |

At first I though who cares about this law. If my gun is stolen I will report it. After reading the comments and realizing that there are people that have several more firearms than I do and now I can understand why this law shouldnt happen. I guess these message boards are worth reading! I wouldnt have heard that in the article. Thanks guys!!! Now all you have to do is make the absent minded mayors understand and get them to focus on something thats actually important beside my rights and stupid fountains!

why don't they just make a law that states in order to be able to purchase a weapon you must have a background check and spend 1 month is a gun control safety class. After you pass the class you are giving a right to carry..you must be 21 or older to purchase a firearm, no if and or butts. If you have to be 21 to drink you should have to be 21 to buy a weapon. Back in the days war was an everyday thing, but now it's not so put a stop on crime, make it harder to purchase hand guns..Have you ever heard of a drive by shooting with a rifle. no, Hands guns where made to kill not to hunt..Sorry Mrs Palin but your rights to kill is revoked. Band Hand Guns..they kill..Protect yourself with a rifle...

We already have these laws... how many gang bangers under the age of "21" have a handgun?????????? War is an everyday thing ya f-n chump.... Tell the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan that it isn't!!!! Tell the families and friends of the soldiers who lost their lives at FT Hood that war is not an everyday thing!!! Rifles were made to hunt eh? So do you think the bullets bounce off the game animals???? So only handgun bullets kill huh? What are shotguns good for???? Damn you are messed up!!!! Ban handguns... use a rifle... don't they both do "EXACTLY" the same thing?????????? Think before ya post this spew!!! |

OK, let us add 1 more law to the 20,000 guns laws that are out there already across the U.S.A.
Now, I wonder how many people are killed by drunk drivers vs. killed by guns? So should we ban cars next? Lets be honest, how many people have driven drunk or buzzed vs. shooting another person? I bet the number of people driving under the influence is far greater than them shooting another person but by the grace of GOD, they did not kill anyone. |

PENALIZE the legal gun carrying people, and let the scum-bags do what they will. Drop most charges when their brought to court,etc. Then, they are back on the street again. The plea deals are a real worthwhile thing! I'm a gun carrying person and will definately shoot anyone who threatens my life. These idiots, i.e., mayors are worried about their damn jobs and not the public!

This is exactly why the 2nd is in place... so these clowns can be persuaded to back off. If you want to "take" it away... ya may have to fight to do so. Just saying. This is America... Its not gonna be that easy. |

Ban NO Gun they are all with in our right to own. Handguns are no more dangerous than a rifle. Drive bys also happen with assault weapons. Idiots with guns, what ever type will still kill, give us law abiding people laws to defend our self, not make us fearful of a lawsuit from a criminal. I will shoot anyone who threatens my family. Take that to the bank.

If they take guns from law abbidiing citizens like Elmer and me Who's going to protect us from them?

It has been said,In war the bullet can hit anyone.First it will be Tobacco,next it will be firearms,then it will be war.You can by then have all the alcohol you want.

I think there's going to be too many ways around this. If they pass it, and someone is questioned by the police for not having reported a gun stolen/missing, that person is just going to say, "Last time I used my gun I put it safely away in the closet and as far as I know its been there ever since." The police then have the task of proving that person is lying and deliberately gave the gun illegaly to someone. That's an investigation that probably more often than not is going to go nowhere and eat up man hours and overtime budget which in some places is already strained as it is. I'm not sure this idea is helpful to the situation.

Not quite. Under this new law the only thing the police would have to prove is that the gun was not reported stolen within 72 hours. |
|||
I agree. I will add to this, what if you are not aware that your gun has been stolen, what if you were away from your home on a 2 week vacation and you came home and just found out it was stolen, there goes the 72 hour deadline. I believe in reporting that your gun is stolen as soon as you know it's stolen. |
||||
|
Let's get real. The only reason for these laws is to nail the gun nuts in the future when guns are outlawed and folks say "they lost them"...
Disingenuous concepts, straw purchases and lost/stolen guns. Strike one for panto the liar. |
||||
Exactly. Just like reporting any other stolen property. Do it as soon as it is apparent. Simple. |
||||
You are a fnidiot! |

why not have a five year extra sentence for using a weapon in the commission of a crime. seems like at the present they take it as a joke when they get a few months to a couple of years for the charge of robbery, burglary, etc. slap it on them so they don't think crime is worth using a weapon. if the state needs prison space use fort indiantown gap and places like that.
