DFL gubernatorial hopefuls call for tax hikes to fund education

Full story: TwinCities.com

Several Democratic candidates for Minnesota governor on Thursday openly advocated tax increases as a way to restore education funding and fix other essential services that were slashed in the state's recession-hammered budget.

Ah, how refreshing, "new" Democratic Candidates adhering to the platforms of the "old, failed and unchanging" Democrat Charter - tax, tax tax. I loves the comments at the meeting, "the Rich can afford it." Unfortunately, all of us will pay the tax that make or are willing to work." If the People of Minnesota fall for any of these candidates and ellect one of them and their lies, we deserve what we get. Isn't the Federal Government taking enough of our dollars. VOTE REPUBLICAN and keep your hard-earned money.

The sky will, undoubtedly fall, according to the fear mongering DFL party hopefuls. And don't think they won't hammer us with the apocalyptic conseqenses of 'Non action" on this matter. The DFL have, and never will, find a tax they could not like. Taxes, after all, are for our own good---aren't they? They will beat this drum until the populus is tired of hearing it and, in the end, appeal to the, now, guilt ridden public until it succumbs. Please see through all this BS and return this State to the people.

Typical of the Dems, nothing new here, sadly nothing new on the other side of the aisle either. Obviously the Tea Party's and other protests by conservatives and the elderly against bigger government mean nothing to these narcisistic fools. Minnesotan's really have no choices, and I am sure that the Dems are hoping that the minions they govern, vice serve, will vote them in. Watch for smear campaigns, lies, half truths, and a lot of disinformatzia in the coming months as we go to mid term elections.

Let's hope the staunch Democrat voters of Minnesota are willing to gaze outside the party line when it comes time to vote. The Dem running platform never seems to change. The solution has been the same for 100 years.... tax, tax and more tax. None of them really want to do the hard work it takes to look at the pork and see where it can be cut.

And don't forget when it was time to hand in the last budget... they presented it with blanks.

When will the Pioneer Press Expose, St Paul Mayor Chris Colemans run for Governer? NPR Has all of these 10 DFLers on their knees in front of the AFL-CIO Unions trying to get endorsement $$$$$$.
Coleman Bragged how he pushed the Rock Ten project for the AFL-CIO even after 90% of the St Paul Voters did not want it! Mayor Coleman also is pushing a New Ice-Ring for the NHL Next to the EXCEL Ice-Ring so the NHL has a place to practice.
The Cost to St Paul Tax-Payers is a Whopping $48 Million. Nothing like Taxing the People in a Recession to pay for NHLs Billionaires Ice-Rings!

Scary.... this party has no shame or guilt. They have no problem coming out and telling us they need to raise taxes on anyone who still has a job because so many people have lost they're jobs in this economy. Ya can't make it up. This party won't be satisfied until they've bankrupted everyone and everything!

Conseravtives are kidding themsmelves if they think this "tax, tax, tax" promise from the DDFL candidates is a non-starter.

You have to remember that tax increases equal revenue increases to the government. And if you're a government employee, which is rapidly approaching the majority in this state, that's music to your ears.

Don't think that because you're a normal, middleclass working person who thinks he lives in a free society and who should be allowed to keep what he earns and that government should be a necessary evil and not the center of the universe, that you are typical of the people in this state. You're probably in the minority.

More tax, thanks DFL for sucking the life force out of everything. How about adjusting some of your stupid laws to allow more money to come in, such as allowing car dealers to sell on Sunday's as well as allowing liquer stores to sell on Sunday's. There are hundreds of these stupid laws that could generate money without raising taxes. Mr Rukavina, why not pull YOUR head out from your posterior, you need to trim the pork and leave the people alone.

Are you happy that your Rethuglican Governor Bridgefail is leaving Minnesota with a multibillion-dollar deficit? What kind of fiscal conservative is that? Timmy the Tool has pushed billions of dollars inb debt off on future governors and future Minnesotans. Thanks, Rethuglicans and Governor Bridgefail. Hope you're happy!
Be glad you had a republican governor or you would be deeper into debt. How do you think we got here? It's called spending and more spending. How about adhering to some of Pawlenty's cuts for a change? Stop spending, cut taxes and get this state back into the black on the balance sheet. Enough spending and enough with higher taxes.

This article just shows how out of touch these dflers are. Connect the dots, morons, higher taxes during a recession?? This will assure a dfler won't win. We're tired of this 'more for education' and tax the rich mantra! They all whine about no jobs but want to tax those who generate them. How pathetic! For certain, another 'no new taxes' candidate will win. What idiots.

They can also afford to move. Did you ever think of that Mark?

You do realize that the 35W bridge would have collapsed on a Democratic governor as well. Or do you honestly believe that Nature is a Democrat?
