marijuana IS illegal, I don't have a preference one way or the other (make it leagal or illegal) but that fact is these people did not abide by the law and got caught. The laws set out are for everyone not just a select few. If you don't break the law you don't get in trouble, simple as that. A normal person knows right from wrong and makes a choice. This one just happened to be the wrong one. They will have to find a new way to make money.

I agree with one caveat: our government is huge, and many of the civil servants are experts in their fields who are not pursuing any political agenda. I do trust and depend on the work of the many government staisticians and researchers who work for the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the FBI statistics department, the CDC, the NHTSA,, the USGS, NASA, NOAA... the list goes on almost without end. One of the things our government has become very good at is collecting, analyzing, and diseminating a vast array of well organized and accurate information.

The White House, on the other hand, is entirely political, and information that comes from it has to be read with a healthy skepticism.

To answer your statement about government, I suggest you google "Donald Rumsfeld, 3 trillion missing from pentagon, september 10th, 2001".....That will answer EVERYONE who has any doubts on whether or not we can 'trust' the government...This is ONE of a MILLION examples, but a good ONE.....
