plus a few cars have been broken into over there and stuff stolen out of them that they might be responsible for, like selling the stuff for money..

This doesn't surprise me at all. Everyone is feeling the pain of money problems in this world and some are losing there homes and jobs.Instead of complaining about this we should try to help out people that are in this spots. Things are hard a ready and to worry about children havening to go though this. It doesn't make bad parents its just not there luck right now. May god bless all thats having a hard time or just need to be blessed.

it is sad but they are going about it the wrong way, they might be responsible for the cars being broken into and thats not right. the parents could at least try and find work, and its the kids that were seen prowling around the cars..

These people had better move quickly, otherwise they may not be viewed as "participating citizens" by the federal government. And, you certainly do want the government to think you are not a "participating citizen." Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel, who is serving as Special Advisor for Health Policy to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, has stated that in allocating health care resources,“services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed.” So when the government takes over health care, if you are deemed not to be a "participating citizen," you will not have the kind of access to health care that "participating citizens" will have. So get the hell out from under that bridge!

The government has already decided that women between ages 40 and 49 should not get mammograms because, even though mammograms save lives in that age group, they do not save enough lives to be worth the money. There's "hope and change" for you. Anyway, if productive women in their 40's are not considered worth saving by the government, then a homeless family living under a bridge is in serious trouble. Of course, the homeless family is likely to vote democrat, so on second thought the current regime may very well deem these people worthy of medical care.

Did anyone offer to help these people, instead of passing judgement? Lori, were you out there with some food, blankets, or a compassionate ear to lend? So quick to judge, point the finger and accuse, but I see very few Americans showing compassion. Instead we hear "get a job loser", or "Call the DCFS, because they are going about it all wrong" How do you know that they haven't tried to find work?

This is really a sad state for our country when we can't even help our own because we are blinded by rhetoric and ignorance to the facts.

I would have loved top offer them food but at that time I wasnt working myself and I have a child to feed myself. and plus they were the ones seen prowling around peoples cars the ones that were broken into I was just out there helping a friend who was one of the people whose car was broken into. and I do feel bad for the homeless under certain circumstances but there are some that dont want to look for work. so dont judge me..

So have at it Brian ! Lori was just communicating in this message board( that's the point isn't it )...

You seriously think it's safe for a woman (or anyone these days) to go down under a bridge and "clothe and shelter" people suspected of theft already?

I think we are waiting to hear of your direct contact with them and your contribution to their dilemma Paul.

Time action now Brian, not words from you.

Give us an update Brian, we're all waiting to hear how you change the world man...

Get that family a home. Elmhurst, you people disgust me. So cold and callous and uncaring. A family! There are children underneath that bridge. WTF is wrong with you people? How heartless, and mean, and cruel. Do you people have no soul? Do you not give a crap about anybody but yourself? Yeah, they're homeless, so they probably criminal too, and they are unwilling to get a job, and all this other crap which you don't even know! But I guess you felt safe putting your opinions on topix, b/c you definitely know that a homeless family underneath a bridge doesn't have Internet connection to read what you've been writing. Shame on you. I bet you consider yourself a "Christian". Christians are supposed to care for the poor!

Daily Horoscope for March 20

Gemini

The Sun's entry into the cardinal signs marks the deep structure of the year. Tonight the Sun enters fiery Aries, at the Equinox, turing the focus to home, family and domestic conditions. You need to assert and express yourself within the family. Control arrogance or stubborn pride, or this will offend parents and others.
