you keep talking about Roy's but if you read no one is talking about roy's. Roy's is not the problem Parlatos is. the food and service at roy's is awesome but the food and service at parlatos is horrible. before you start bashing a restaurant that is clearly not a problem why dont you double check, open your eyes, and bash on the resataurant that is the real problem(parlatos).
Roy's purchased Parlatos and that is the problem!!!!

When you purchase a restaurant and keep the name, customers expect the same food and service. Shame on Roy's for not keeping the same menu and employees. I went there with an open mind, the food was terrible, staff short handed, and the friendly atmosphere was gone. If the former employees get together and open another restaurant, make sure you let everyone know where you came from.
thank you for saying that about us. were all not working . they didnt keep most of us,just the waiters

The Manager and Owner feel the need to blame everyone but themselves. The Manager thought his cooking was better than the original Parlatos. He
continues to stir up trouble with his blogging.
The owners refuse to recognize that he is the
majority of the problem.

What a lot of you people don't seem to understand is that Roy's bought Parlato's and kept the Parlato's name, I'm sure Roy's did that to keep the clientele coming back that Parlato's had. Why didn't they change the name to "Roy's"????? Why did they change the menu??? Why didn't they keep the cook and other staff that made Parlato's what is was????

Has anyone called the Food Health Department on Parlato's for multiple violations yet? My wife was vomiting last week the morning after a previous dinner at Parlato's.

Roy my boy, why ya tryin' to be so coy? Parlato's wasn't a toy. Your pasta tastes like soy.

Bad tastin' noodle. Like the back end of a poodle. Does the new cook just doodle?

Bar lady is scary. Her druggie days were hairy. The regulars are nary. Everythings contrary. My boyfriend is a fairy.(OK I just threw that last one in because it rhymed good).

The clientele is whiney. The salad plates are tiny. The steak went to my hiney. The garbanzos were too shiney. Everythings not finey.

The food comes from a sack. The taste it does so lack. The waitress had a rack...(of lamb ya pervs!) Don't think I'll come back.

Nothing is the same. This is such a shame. The experience is lame. Should have changed the name.

Well the saga of Parlato's goes on-----today in the Times Standard 7-2-09 section A5 see what "Franklin Stover" of the Humboldt Beacon has to say about it all. I would have put this as a comment to that article but could not find it on Times Standard website. I do buy the paper and have read the blogs since 6-11-09. I have tried the food twice at Parlato's since the new owners took over. Both times I did not like the food and the prices were too high. The reason I will not return is based on these two factors. I have moved on to the Ivanhoe in Ferndale and Shamus in Carlotta.

Well the owners of Parlatos have sunk to a new low.
They found it necessary to go to the newspaper to defame the Parlato family. Their true character is revealed in the article in today's paper.

Teacher.
I am on your side. I think Roy's has done a dis-service to our community by uprooting and destroying a Fortuna landmark and insulting the former Parlato's employees by promising them the takeover would not result in job loss - then offering them less hours and pay. Even if the former employees would have stayed, they'd be out of a job because when Roy's changed the food, jacked up the prices and made some questionable bar employee replacements...all the people that have supported Parlato's over the years have quit going there.
But that is still no excuse to tell someone to go to "collage". A collage is something abstract on the wall. Silly buddy.
