I've seen very little details on this. Does anyone have any idea what happened? Or why?

Breaking News - The Greenville Daily News
Lakeview death is termed 'suspicious'
Elisabeth Waldon
Staff Writer
LAKEVIEW - A Lakeview man was found dead in his home Tuesday and the Michigan State Police (MSP) Lakeview post is calling the incident "suspicious."
David Leroy Boon, 55, was discovered dead by family members Tuesday morning at his residence on Nimberger Road just north of Cutler Road near Lakeview, according to MSP Post Commander Lt. Steve Raines.
"The death is being listed as a suspicious death until the results of the autopsy are received," Raines said. "The autopsy is scheduled for today."
The MSP Crime Lab in Grand Rapids also responded to Boon's residence and processed the scene for evidence. The MSP was assisted by the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office and Montcalm County Emergency Services, both in Stanton.
Police are requesting assistance from the public for more information about Boon's death. Call the MSP Lakeview Post
Jerry Behrenwald walks his beagle, Pepper, down the dirt road past Boon's house every morning.
"He'd been on vacation out in Montana fishing," Behrenwald said this morning of his neighbor. "He just got back Friday. We noticed his 'No Trespassing' rope was down. Then I heard about this. I heard he'd been beaten and his son found him."
Boon was a familiar face at the Wesco convenience store at the intersection of M-46 and M-91, according to Store Manager Heather Simpson and cashier Pam Watts.
"He came in here," Simpson said. "He was a regular customer."
"He was really soft spoken, kept to himself," Watts added. "He'd get gas, coffee, tobacco, play the lottery every once in a while."
Lakeview Village Manager James Freed said he didn't know many details but that the news was all over town today.
"People are talking about it," he said.
Correction: A Michigan State Police Lakeview post press release previously incorrectly reported that David Leroy Boon was discovered Monday morning.

People will do things when they don't like someone or are jealous of others. A life is to valuable. Certain people in the Montcalm area seem to think they can do anything they please. I was actually threatened at the Sidney _________ last weekend. So watch your backs. I am so happy I don't live around there anymore. Prayers for the families involved.

He was exactly as the article said, someone who would do anything to help someone out. It is very unfortunate that these things have to happen. I hope they catch those responsible and make them pay. There are few great people in this world, its too bad there is now one less. God bless him and his family.

I would have to agree with the previous post. Dave was my wife's uncle and a man with a heart of gold. It is hard to believe someone could commit such a horrible act to someone like him. To Cookie,Theresa,David Jr., and the rest of the family our thoughts and prayers are with you from Iowa. We Love ya!!

I knew Dave Boon. He was a very nice person who would help anyone he could. Does anyone know if any of the Chapman boys were around? They are the type of people that are capable of doing something like this, and they also knew Dave Boon. Speaking of Evil, these guys are. If the police haven't already checked them out, they should.

I definitely agree with you! I can't understand how someone can honestly beat a person to death, especially someone as nice as this man! I feel SO very horrible for his family and friends and my heart goes out to them. I hope they found the person who did this. Whoever did obviously has some mental health issues that is for sure!

I wish the cops would get on the ball and find out what happened and who did this! Knowing the MSP and the Montcalm County sherrifs this will end up being another cold case, sorry but I don't have much faith in them! I would be afraid to be around there, until someone knows if Dave Boon knew the person who did this or if this was another random act of violence in this crazy place they call Lakeview!I hope his family gets some info on what happened because if his family has to rely on the police they won't know much.God Bless his children and grandchildren.

I am just stunned that something so horrific as this could happen. Cookie is a good friend of mine and my thoughts and prayers go out to her and all the family. If anyone knows anything, please come forward. There needs to be justice and peace brought to this man and his family. God Bless you , Cookie. We love you.

Dave was a friend of ours and grew up with my husband in Iowa. We lost touch over the years and this is a VERY sad way to find out about an old friend. We knew Cookie when she was just a baby. Ours prayers are with the family and the police that they discover who did this terrible thing.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Capricorn

Mercury retrograde in your sign will cause some friction between you and other people during coming weeks. Matters that have been bubbling away in the background will come to the boil, forcing you to do something about them. Try not to overreact, nor to create a crisis out of something that's really very minor. You should also keep a strong sense of fair play and pay attention to every little detail.
