People from your community INTENTIONALLY signed off and shipped toxic peanuts. They did not care. Yep! I think you should go into a depression because of it. Look in the mirror for who to blame.

I think you are wrong to blame the whole community, Jerry, the people of the community can not test the peanuts in a plant. You should be ashamed of youself for that remark. You should think about whom you are hurting. The people at the plant, quality control, should be your target for blame, not the people of the town.

I have worked in offices and I know that fellow workers know everything that is going on. They overhear and gossip about it until everyone knows. So I do blame the whole community. I think you should all have to eat some of the products of that plant.

I think you are wrong, Concerned Californian,I don't care if you have worked in an office and listen to gossip that does not mean everyone does. I think any one that does blame the whole community should stop an think about how you would feel if it were your community they are talking about. Would you still feel that everyone in the community is to blame? I don't think so. I feel sorry for everyone that lives there, I know their lives are turned up side down by all of this. Hang in there,People will get tired of talking about this s---- one day.

It is very sad that tainted products were sent from PCA in Blakely, and many people were sickened or even died. But to say that every one in Blakely is responsible. I don't even know anyone who works there. Maybe everyone who worked at PCA were not aware of the problem.

How would you feel if something terrible happened in your city and you were blamed. It doesn't make much sense to blame everyone in Blakely.

My deepest sympathy goes out to everyone that was affected by the actions of PCA located here in my hometown. We are sorry. Those people who were employed at PCA were our parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, friends but most of all they were human beings. The employees communicated their concerns to the president of PCA but at the end of the day the president, who is not a resident of Blakely, told them to ship the product. So please don't blame our community for actions that were done by the president of PCA who also told the Texas plant to ship the product.

I never stopped eating peanut butter or peanuts. Matter of fact, I'm eating peanut butter toast as I write this. When all the media was here sensationalizing "the facts" I wanted to be filmed eating my jar of Jif with a spoon. Strange, but no takers for my offer.

Was asked by a reporter where he could find a prominent black citizen to interview. Asked him, after popping an handful of dry roasted peanunts in my mouth why one of us white folks wouldn't do for an interview. He had no comment. Imagine that!

My heart goes out to all involved that were affected due to greed whether it be from peanuts, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc. But the general public nor the community are responsible as a whole. If you want to place blame, try the USDA and other offices that have the job our taxpayer dollars pay for to ensure things like this don't happen.

I am a resident of Blakely. In my profession (Hair Salon Owner/Operator) you pretty much hear anything and everything! I have to say, this was THE BIGGEST SHOCK OF ALL TIMES for our community!!! The reason I say that is because, when this story hit the news, very few people in our community even knew what the "place" was or where it was. It is in one of the less traveled places in town. We didn't even know we had a facility that did the service that they provided. I worked at the Early County Gin for FOUR YEARS across the street from it and still never knew what it was. So, for you to judge the whole community...you ARE WRONG!!!!!

not to mention it's not the whole town. it was the man in charged with the placed and because this went on every business that deals with food is having to watch out and make sure what they do and cover their ass b/c it could be them next. If you dont live here and dont know what went on then you have no say so. b/c the news hardly states the truth.

I agree with the "hair lady" (who by the way, I know personally and trust me she knows her stuff)-- blaming a whole community for one plant's mistake is ludacris. That would be like blaming the whole town if one person murdered another. It makes no sense. But everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. And here is mine -I think you should keep YOUR ignorant opinions in South Carolina and stay out of Georgia. I'm sure you have enough going on there to keep you busy.
