I know this is true. My husband got a ticket there and everyone that knows him could not believe it because a snail probably drives faster than he does. He got caught on the four lane where the speed limit changes on top of a hill, and there was a cop just on the other side.

memorial day is suspose to be the first weekend for families to get together have some fun cook out etc.For some people driving thru Copperhill Tn. ended in a loss of 130.00 or more on a speeding ticket.Copperhill is a speed trap city stopping people who work hard for their money.I saw with my own eye's the hiding in the bushes catching people. My business tried to warn people of the speed trap by putting a sign of the speed trap on my lighted sign out front. But to my surpise all it did was p*** the cops off. They pulled in my parking lot and set up radar, which didn't last long (my business is private property) so they had to move.If we don't stand together and fight for our freedom soon we will have no freedom. The town of copperhill has around 400 people which is mostly elderley people. But we have 5 police officers with 4 radar units. Our business's survive on tourisum want be long if this keeps up they want be a town. One of the cops is a preacher but you wouldn't know it if you had the pleasure of meeting him.The code of ethic's law that copperhill had to adopt I guess doesn't apply to him.State & Religion just don't mix.

If you think Copperhill is a speed trap try going through Benton. Benton is famous all over the country for being a speed trap. They have stopped people from traveling 411 because they write so many tickets and the Cops are dumb as rocks and cannot carry on an intelligent conversation when they stop you. Polk County is getting a bad reputation for this kind of thing.

Keyword you saw them catching people, if they do not do it they won't get caught. Memorial Day is not suppose to be the first weekend for families to cookout. Memorial Day is so much more, it is to honor people like my family who paid the ultimate price for your freedom. As a disabled vet who was injured in the line of duty, I am insulted that is what you view it as. Grow up, what a way to honor our fallen hero's getting drunk and speeding with the family.

Grow up,I am sorry that you took me the wrong way about Memorial Day.My dad was a vet and I have many friend's who are vet's.Not all the people who got caught this weekend were drunk some were elderly people just visiting the area or going to see family & friends.I have a dear friend who is a vet and the cops in copperhill are harrassing him to.when he was in korea up to his neck in mud these cops were still in dipers.and yes I saw the cops catching people they were sitting in my driveway running radar until I ran them off.we have to stand up to these cops are they will take our freedom from us.patroling the streets is one thing hiding in the bushes is a speed trap.look up speed trap in webster's dic.see for your self what it says.Business's here are suffering because of them.God bless america.

Copperhill Tennessee is a nice little town but the fact remains the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 then to 35 and finally at the railroad tracts to a meager 20 mph. If this isn't the definition of a speed trap in a small town that uses this method to collect revenue from both locals and visitors alike I don't know what is.

A speed trap is when the speed limit signs are manipulated as the motorists approaches and passes.. now does this really happen? Call DA's office!!

Now, now, mill girl, let everyone know so that they can better understand just where your "home" and "driveway" is. I'm sure if they knew that they were both inside and in front of a package store and fireworks stand - they would understand why the police are patrolling there. Oh yeah, not to mention your residence is also a bar. I beleive that if i had a buisness I would welcome the police to patrol my establishment unless, of course, I was doing something that I shouldn't be.

You are either very young and ignorant, or you are very old with senility taking hold of you. 2. You believe more in Government than you do in true education of the people. 3. You seem to know a great deal about Mill Girl and possibly are obsessed with lady. This is the short list and I must now get back to my junk. Have a great day.

Mill Girl, If the cops are hiding in the bushes, I too would call this a "SPEED TRAP". If the cops are trying to get people to slow down, all they need to do is let people see them. This is proven on every highway out there. You can be driving the speed limit as well as the cars in front of you. As soon as someone sees the cop car they slow down below the speed limit causing a traffic jam. Mill Girl, have you thought about the possibilty that these cops are trying to do something besides public safety? Junk Man
