happy chat for FLORIDA people

Good MORNING all you Floridians welcome to happy chat.Talk about our move to the beautiful North GA MOUNTAINS.IT so nice to wake up in the mountains, and just hear the chirping of the birds.My husband and i will be moveing here in the fall.SEPT 28will be his last day at work.We will be here to the colors of the leaves change this year. Truly love the NORTH GA MOUNTAINS.

Thank you so much the 18 of april, we are comeing for a visit and to put finishing touches on our new home.We have had it finshed for two years now, there is just afew THINGS it needs the touch of a woman lol.My husband is looking forward to our move, and the days of late sleep in's no more work days.My retirement was last year and i was really happy after 35 years of teaching at a beauty college.

I am a Floridian myself. I am working hard to change things here to be just like they were back in Florida.

Why would want things the way it was in Florida...Cant you leave things as they are... That is the part I dont understand. You move her to get away from those things and then you want the town to be what you left. Please explain that to me. To me is just doesnt make any sence.

Imagine my delight when I saw your lovely post this morning and the invitation to chit chat! I am just quivering with excitement that you are moving HERE!

I see you have befriended boodoodle. Samantha (boodoodle), has been such a JOY to have on this forum, and the two of you sound so much alike!!!

Just like you, Samantha oozes charm, goodwill and friendliness to all the locals she meets on Blairsville Topix! She never tires of posting her kind, good-natured, brilliant thoughts! She is fantastic!!

Happy go lucky, we have also bought ourselves a Mountain with all that money we have. We weren't able to buy 22 acres like you, but the spot we bought will be scraped down and VERY bald just as soon as we get up there!

My lovely pink flamingo collection is just itching to be planted in the bald, barren soil! I just wish they had more sand and a beach with rows and rows of condominium here..... but, it won't be long!

We plan on joining many committees so we can change all the locals to 'our way of thinking'. I hope you do the same! For instance, we really need to voice our opinions about all that National Forest Land up there. I mean, really. Who needs that much National Forest Land anyway?! And those silly State Parks and Historical Places. My goodness, it's a shame. They need to be torn down! What an eyesore!

Oh happy go lucky, have you heard the good news?? Boodoodle says they are planning to build a casino in Cherokee County, NC! What could possibly be more fabulous?! It will be just like 'home' up here before long!!

We can't wait to meet you! Perhaps we can all take some lovely walks together with Samantha. Isn't she just a dear?!

Yes, I am from Florida. Purchased my house and property five years ago, come up every month. Yes, I don'twant to change things. If you can , leave thos topic alone. This is nice, posting with peiple who love Blairsville for the right reasons.

Oh and one other thing. So sorry, I know I am rambling, just like you and Boodoodle do - I guess it's just in our blood!

But, don't ever listen to that fool Slowpok. He is just a demented, vile, evil old codger who actually respects the land and the ways of the mountain people.

I love Blairsville just the way it is. I ammoving there this Fall to the house we have been renovating for over a year and to work and live in the beuatiful community. We hope to come and take care of my parents as they are aging and may need family to care for them. My grandfather and his brother and sister owned a large poultry/egg producing farm there when I was a little girl. My cousins own the KFC (and many others across Georgia and NC mountains) and my mom's step-sister helps run the Union County Historical Society. I am moving there to be away from Florida and to preserve the land and the trees. Don't want my future grandchildren to have to visit a tree in a museum. I know there are many from Florida who have moved to the mountains - and I hope they move there to enjoy them without changing them. The people there do not need us to tell them how to live - they are good, hard-working, intelligent and kind people and it is one of many reasons I look forward to moving there this year. I am just a farmgirl currently trapped in the city!
