I am the ex-wife of Tony Smuhl, the younger brother of Chad Smuhl. Four years ago I found about Chad Smuhl. Tony and I were divorced & our daughter (3 yrs old) was to spend every other weekend with Tony, who lived with his parents. After a visit, my daughter had bruises on her private area. I took her to the doctor and the doctor confirmed my suspicions. I hired a private detective. Only then did I find out that Chad was on the run from the police for other pedophile acts, was hiding out at his parent’s! He did something to my daughter! His whole his family knew that he rapes kids and nobody said a word to me about this monster. Nobody in Tony’s family did anything to protect my daughter. In fact when I made the accusations against him I was told that “Chad loves kids”! I brought my Ex to a court with all the documents proving that Chad’s history of child abuse and the doctor’s notes regarding our daughter, the judge didn’t listen. With nobody to protect my daughter but me I move out my daughter back to Russia to be far from this sick family! My heart is sick that I could not help those other kids!! I’m happy that this monster is finally caught and I hope he will spend the rest of his life in jail!

Well, I have something to say about Julia. This woman came to America from Russia with the intent to marry someone to get citizenship. Tony happened to be the unlucky party. First, she makes him fall in love with her, marries her, and gives her a child. Then she takes him for everything he's got, blasphemes his family and runs off to Russia with his child so he can never see her again. Second, Chad was long gone before anything happened to her daughter. If there was actually evidence then why didn't anything get reported????? I want to say that I'm sorry for everything that this family is going through. If he's guilty, he'll be judged. If not, let him be.

Yay to Laura! Julia, where are you? Still hiding out in Russia? You illegally took Tony's child and snuck off in the middle of the night, after using him for citizenship and to bring your family to the US. And now you lie on a public blog about his family? You're unbelievable. I highly doubt that the 'judge didn't listen' to you; more likely you didn't have any proof and you were told to stay in the country. I am a pediatric nurse, so believe me when I say I'm a fierce advocate for children, but I also know how false accusations of this type can ruin an innocent person's life. Let the courts decide. Julia, get your butt back to the US and let Tony see his daughter.

The case against Chad has always been factual. I and my family have never had anything against the Smuhl family. The pain this man put my ten year old son through almost distroyed a very innocent little boy. He began his terror of this boy when he was ten and it continued until he was eleven. Again, the case against Chad Smuhl is very accurate and factual.. That is why he will be serving 20 years in prison.

As for Julia, you may want to look into some other person as the offender against your daughter. Since this happened to my son, I have learned way too much about pedophilia... Chads illness stems from his own abuse as a boy therefor his victims would be boys, not little girls. I hope he gets the help he needs but away from innocent children. I must urge parents, DO NOT sweep stuff like this under the rug! If a child is victimized this way, the only right thing to do for them is to get them help. My son would not be alive today if not for a very lot of counseling.
