what ever happended to the serial killer and where did he put the bodies.

There is a book about it you can find it at the gaffney library. It tells about it all. That anyone knew about anyway. He lived in a little house over off of sixth street and if I am not mistaken he died in prison!

he didnt die in a prison i think he may have killed his self but in 2005 a 15 year old girl discovered his rotting body in the woods RIGHT NEXT to gaffney high school....like as in his body was pretty much visible to the road.....CREEPY!!! but yea i just know what the news paper article said.. i would really like to find some haunted places in gaffney were he killed his victims.. but i cant find any of the places listed on the internet! and i am from gaffney!!! guess i'll just have to go to the gaffney library!

Where did you get your info? This sounds like school yard rumors.

You have gotten wrong info here. Leroy Martin was sentenced to life in prison where he was killed by a fellow inmate.

I'm confused as well. The first article I read re: the strangler stated that he died in prison-was killed by another inmate. Then I came across the article in the spartanburg herald that in 2005 his remains may have been found by the high school student. I guess it turned out not to be? Search Google images for Gaffney Strangler you will see the story.

For several weeks, he was a student in my class. He was returned to solitary confinement because of an incident with another inmate. Years later, after I left SC, I read he was killed by another inmate.
I recently saw the 2005 Spartanbug newspaper article. I have no idea what that is about. It must be bogus.

I was just reading an article about
Lee Roy Martin. He did die in prison, shortly after he was sentenced to 30 years; was killed by another inmate. Article said the last victim's sister identified him after he kidnapped her sister. Martin had the audacity to come to that victim's house and asked their father if he could help in finding the person who had taken his daughter. Upon seeing Martin at her house, the sister who ID'd him screamed and said he was the kidnapper, but no one believed her because she had been given a sedative to calm her down, after witnessing her sister's kidnapping. They did find him shortly after that.

The Gaffney strangler was killed in prison by a fellow inmate,last name Rumsey.

The writer of the BS article is Susan Caldor. She also said there were 2 shows on AMW in 1993 about another manhunt for Martin. According to his autopsy report, Martin was already located in 1972. Stupid reporters.

Yeah I just read up on that Peewee Gaskins fellow. It's truly sad how our justice system works. Here is a guy that killed dozens of innocent folks(he claimed 181), including children and even young babies, and all he got for it was life in prison.

It wasnt until he killed a fellow immates(who was on death row) that he got the death penelty himself.

The lives of those dozens of innocent victims meant nothing to the state, but they'll be damned if you kill another murderous immate. Then you surely deserve the death penelty.

gaffney strangler was leroy martin. died in prison. 2 locations of victims were, water wheel off of #11, and small bridge off of ford rd below ford complex. he worked at musgrove mill and you can get the book from public library. he was not talking to sheriff bobby write at that time he was talking to chief editor of gaffney ledger. 1 more location is were 18 and jeruselum rd cross. that was dump locations. not sure were he actually did the deeds.
